there's something that happened today and i would need biological explanation to it. oh my God. after I had sex today, just after it there came great head pressure.. the pressure and tightness draw my attend back or I would say remind me of my past days. that is last year when I was getting massive and threatening discomfort.


well I was not scared as before, I was just doing other things and remove my mind, how I wish it was before I would have been afraid to go out.. I just allow it to
calm down by itself after some hours. which it did. I know it was some chemical reaction

please. sometimes its seems I am suffering from an unending problem. if I don't sleep for a night. the next day is head pressure. some times I just feel the end of my life has come. I can only share my predicament with close friends and family. how do I recover my head back. I am just forcing myself to be happy. the actual truth I am not and going through a lot. it all started last year July.

this amitriptyline want to damage my eyes, there are some kind of things going on with my eyes I can't explain. and if at all this drug is doing any cure by now I should have been free or at least a skip dose or a night without sleep shouldn't be bring such problem or those past memory back by now.. no doubt I got a lot of relief from it and if I should look back to what it use to me before now. but the truth is if I stop taking it. it will worsen back like before. is there any points at all. or should I continue to live my life like this till my eye get destroyed.... still confuse...



is there any options like change of drugs?

it sometimes seem to me there is no hope or a permanent cure to my quest. the questions still remains... is suicide an option?

I sincerely sympathise with you on all these complaints but How can suicide be an option?
I would advise u start psychotherapy sessions with your psychiatrist.
Management of all psychiatric related disorders is beyond drug treatment and must include the psychotherapy sessions.

Good day doc. one thing I notice is that some diet or activities trigger back the head symptoms even while still on amitri medication. some of the diet I found that cause me head spasms and dizziness. face and nose tightness, increase ear buzz are Sugar & fried yam.

for activities, overstress, all-night, hungry or fasting. etc.

its seems the end of me has come. and I am really not sure of my fate but it look like this whole thing will never go. i really don't know how to explain all this to my parents and relations anymore as they will never understand. I am sick and tired talking to them about it. most times they think it's not as serious as I put it. since then I keep telling my parents it's improving.



have you ever seen anyone who get back to itself normal self from chronic pain? what is happening to me? should I stop taking ametriptyline. the drug seems not to be improving the condition anymore and if I should stop it the whole thing will get worst and come back with full force.


I was in hospital this week. during the season I had a talk with the doctor. I talk about diet that trigger symptoms and he told me to avoid them and if I notice any diet that triggered it I should avoid them.


.I also told him it look like this whole thing will never go and I am getting tired. but he said it will go with assurance that I should keep talking the drugs. he said he is not sure i am talking the drugs the truth is I am talking it every night. my life has been messed up really big time.


how do I get back to my normal self. can this thing be treated? can I become normal once again! as I am typing there is pressure and discomfort.

do I really need assurance to confirm it will go? last year July is too long for it. when it started it was not as serious as this but I was ignorant of it to have allowed it and one of the attacked triggered it.
the sharp stabbing pain that use to be on my head. has now move to my body.
how many months does it normally takes for the drug to treat chronic anxiety.

I sympathise with you. I can imagine how distressing this is to you.
You have over time developed what I will call anxiety neurosis which have only made your condition worse.
You said the chronic sharp pain in your head is no longer there but have moved to the body.
At this junction, I would advise that your medications are changed. But note that even with a change in medication, it would still require your patience and giving the drugs time to work.
The effects and side effect profile will also be different from your current medication.

I went there before. the drugs they gave me almost killed me. each time I took the drugs it worsen the whole thing, unbearable head pain and discomfort I can't explain, in fact the only option is suicide, the drugs contributed to what even worsen the problem. I later did research on the drug and found out its a bipolar drug. my parents were scared initially so that's why they force me to go there. they didn't even told me we are going there. I was surprise when the car drove us there.

each time i took the drugs and it triggers the pain I would then rushed to take DALTIL 100 and 2 swipha talen (bromazepam) 3g. this will then cool it down after some minutes.


. I stop taking the drugs and didn't go there again. although I did a urine and blood test there are which I show to you that day. and to think of it the drugs was highly expensive.

my anxiety was the fear that I would go mad, my ignorance. if not for the internet that educate me and also its my first time experience, haven experience it myself I would understand the pain others are going through..

the more i am scared the more the attacks, i really do not understand so I was thinking its a spiritual attackers. although I can't rule that out but now I am certain its anxiety.

I wasted a lot of time going to church by this it became worst.

knowledge they say is the key. then when I am going out alone that fear thought in me that I am now alone and I don't know anyone here. the attack will just come or when I have the symptoms it's causes panic attack. I will be running home
but if I am with my relative or somebody's i know it doesn't happen.

. now if I just look back to all those things I will be laughing. because since I read the internet and understand it clearly I have been able to change my thoughts. even when I am having the signs and symptoms I will just continue my journey and nothing will happen.

the only problem now is I want to recover myself. it look like its too late.
how do I recover and stop taking drugs. its not true that it has gotten worse. the thing is that the drugs doesn't seem to be improving it again. the sharp pain that move to my

body is not constant. it just come and go. but its more frequent in my body and faces than it use to be on my head.

Thank you for you response. She's 25 years old ,working and schooling in a less stressful environment (Ibadan). She noticed it like 5 years ago and have gotten worse over time. She doesn't have any disability or dysfunction that I know of but one thing I noticed is if she sleep whether night or during the days and you call her name or tap her, the way she'll wake up is like someone that was wake up by bad dream eventhough she didn't. If you tell her something now,the next minute she won't remember,If she put something some where ask her after 5 minute she won't remember where she place it ,not to talk of her study. Discuss something with her or tell her to remind you of something later in the day or the next day,she won't remember.

In 2007 I had a fling with a lady, days later I started developing some symptoms and was afraid to go for diagnosis, months later I went for diagnosis and tested HIV negative, since then I have done more than 15 HIV test,but I keep having this phobia for it.

It appears serious particularly because of the worsening progression.

You didn't mention the symptoms you were experiencing.
When last did you screen for Hiv infection?
Have you been checking your body for skin lesions?
It's either you have developed a major psychiatric disorder from this experience or you have become worried well.
In both conditions, you may need to be placed on anxiolytics medications and have regular psychotherapy sessions.

How can you recover and stop the use of those medication??
By doing more of the things you are already doing ie worry less about those symptoms.
CHECK it, CATCH it and CHANGE it.
These 3 Cs refers to those worrying thoughts.
Give less room for rumination about your health, check and ensure that you are not allowing negative thoughts control your mind, catch them when they occur and change them by thinking of more pleasurable thoughts rather than the challenges or thoughts of suicide.

You can get a referral letter from any private hospital close to you and take her to a teaching or specialist hospital.
There she will be seen by a psychiatrist or neurologist.

From the symptoms you listed it appears you may have what we call dysthmia.
This is a long standing type of depressive episode.
First you need to see a professional cos you may require some medications to resolve most of the symptoms.
In addition to that, psychotherapy sessions and life style modifications will go a long way too.
