I've been following d thread silently and thumbs up @ op. I've observed DAT most people fink storage of palm oil begins by march. well Dats a capital NO, d best month wif cheapest price for storage is april-may/june. Dats d peak in terms of yield, hence s price is always very cheap. by march, new fruits only begin to get ripe thereby forcing d price to go down slowly but not instantly. I did a thread on palm oil supply where I indicated d monthly availability in terms of yield. you can search for it or check my profile.
God bless our hussles.

Not totally true. Because palm trees production depends on location and truth b told prices differ December last pkn in Ibadan was 155k while in IMO is 186k. From time I've observed the prices rotates from west to east

well I won't argue wif u sir but I wud advise u do ur research well. the price is a function of location(cities, villages) and cost of production while d availability is dependent on d breed of palm tree as well as d season of d year. Feb is d worst performing month when fruit availability is considered, hence scarcity is always @ it's peak. if you check most threads created by me, you would discover DAT my life is centered around oil palm. I've been in d business of palm oil since childhood and I know wht am saying. I HV a research conducted by a friend in maylasia using Nigerian oil palm as a case study. d results conforms wif what I earlier posted. its Berra to wait until April- June if storage is really ur priority. all d best in ur endeavors.

Re: The Truth About Palm and Kernel Business by oluwaseunadebay(m): 6:29pm On Apr 04, 2017
Good evening house, several months ago I stumbled on this thread, I developed interest immediately and I contacted the OP. Later last year I went back to the root and meet the local people that are into the milling and I spent another six months learning the rudiments processes of palm kernel milling. Fast forward this year. I was able to set up a milling factory of my own, production have already started. Am using this medium to say thank you to Brian the op for this thread. I will be uploading the pix of the factory and equipments.

Please my fellow nairaland, please anything Agro allied must learn from the root and the specialist and not just internet things.
