That Manchester City nearly signed Aston Villa's Captain and English Fabian Delph is not news rather the news is that he rejected Manchester City at the last minute. Manchester City nearly signed Delph in an £8 million deal before Delph made a U -Turn. Rumours have it that it was new Aston Villa and former Manchester City defender Micah Richards that convinced Delph to stay back in Villa rather than move to City. Also moving for £8 million wasn't so convincing when one thinks about the £6 million Villa signed him from Leeds United many years ago . How come the profit of only £2 million on him when he played the best football of his career last season. It didn't make business sense that way.
