Lol, Asian cars take the lead on durability, European follow and American cars comes third.
You can always trust Asian cars to go from point A-B almost any day with minimal cost of maintenance and fewer trips to a mechanic besides, their parts don't just start falling off anyhow.
That's reliability and durability.

Which would you recommend between a 2009 Hyundai genesis and a 2008 E350 or E320 independent on costs of maintenance but on duration of use without hassles in a country like Nigeria and ease/comfort when driving?

Compact means closely fitted, occupying a small volume. And compact isn't a German automobile term, its Japanese which has been adopted by the Koreans, Indians, Chinese etc.

That said, durability left the Germans, its Japanese and now going the way of the Koreans.

I'd do a Merc because its known. However, bear in mind the Genesis isn't known much in Nigeria. So tools and parts such as filters, brake pads etc for basic periodic maintenance may not be easy to get.

Yeah Genesis is an E-class competitor whereas the Equus is the S-class competitor. the Kia K900 (or is it K5000) also competes with the S-class and Audi A8. Koreans have really come a long way. I hope that Nigeria can catch up to S.Korea soon under the right leadership.
