Buhari’s Exclusion Of Igbos In Appointment Of Service Chiefs Regrettable-opiah by GOATandYAMtheory: 9:22pm On Jul 18, 2015
Member representing Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta/Oru West federal constituency of Imo State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Goodluck Nanah Opiah has described the appointment of Service Chiefs by President Muhammadu Buhari without a South-East indigene as regrettable.

Speaking with DAILY POST In Abuja, he said that the appointment of service chiefs was a good beginning of a new government with so much security challenges.

“It is good that Mr President has started with appointment of Service Chiefs, which is supposed to be an injection of fresh blood into the system, but to me security problems remain a major problem that requires contributions of all and it is quite regrettable that Igbos were not part of them”, he noted.

He, however, cautioned that in subsequent appointments, conscious effort should be made to appoint Igbo persons into the administration, while explaining that as a people they were entitled to vote for any candidate or political party of their choice, hence that should not be the basis for them to be carried along or not.

“Without being told, Igbo as a tribe have choice to vote for any candidate or political party of their choice so they should not be excluded on that basis”, he explained.

He also advised the government to put behind it the problem of election and move into governance where everyone should be carried along so as to work the talk that Mr President belong to no body and belongs to everybody.

He admonished Igbo people to be calm and patient, believing that what happened was a slip that would be corrected.

Continue to regret it. It's what you guys chose.

Why should those you hate so much go out of their way to accommodate you? I mean, you say "the zoo" must fall, right? So, why should PMB appoint any of your people into any security agency or arm of the military?

You hate Nigeria. You hate Hausas. You hate Yorubas. You hate Islam. You hate anything and everything not Igbo. So, why should any of those people care about you too.

Even some of us who used to be unbothered by your hate campaign and disrespecting attitude have started to despise you too.

Right from his past dealing with eastern Nigeria, we should not expect much from him, let him continue with the division of Nigeria along religious and ethnic line

So is it a must that an IBO is among the four service chiefs? What of the cross river guy there? is he yoruba or hausa?

why are these set of people so hateful and callous? Must you ask for everything? GUSH!!!!

And they refer to this country as a zoo....with their level of treason ...who will grant such a sensitive position to them?

Now, same way u guys are screaming "Why are the Northern Elders not criticising Shekau"

i will also wonder

"Why are all the Ibo Elders not criticising NNamdi Kanu"....

I only fear what will happen when the Soldiers arrest him and hand him over to the police.....if you know what I mean....cos that was exactly what happened to the M.Yusuf leader of BHaram

This is not a game of gamble, its a game of making a choice and standing by it. One thing you gotta know is that life is not always a win all situation, rather sometimes you loose in anticipation of a greater win. Jonathan was the closest thing to an Ibo president, the Ibos' are supposed to stand by him at all cost, they stood by him and by their actions they have shown that they are no sycophants, like some other tribes that couldn't express their stance loud and clear. True, Ibos' may have lost in this dispensation, but know ye that even the yorubas who were afraid of declaring their stance are not even sure of any tangible thing in this dispensation, if using what happened in the senate is anything to go by.

Let's for the sake of argument agree with your assertion that Igbos 'hate' all those you mentioned; have you stopped to ask yourself what has fueled this hate over the years? Now compare the acting out of this 'hate' by Ndigbo on those you claim they hate and juxtapose this with the acting out of the hatred visited on Igbos by the Hausa/fulani and Yoruba over the years! You can create some sort of balance sheet for this and hopefully you'll begin to realize who exactly is getting a raw deal and the short end of the stick in this 'one Nigeria' of yours....and exactly who the haters are!

Why shouldn't your Buhari treat all zones/ethnicities equally? Is he President of apc and Hausa/Fulani/Yoruba or is he President of Nigeria!? Dude, until any secession papers are signed and whilst you ungrateful lot continue to leech off the resources of Alaigbo, we will continue to demand from Buhari fair treatment in distribution of any resources and appointments! The fact many of us can't stand the man and didn't vote for him is neither here nor there!

Considering the history he and his ethnic group have with Ndigbo, he needs to extend the olive branch and hand of friendship not us! Thus far, it's apparent he's acting true-to-type and couldn't give two fuc'ks about Ndigbo! I'm not surprised about this....it's gullible fools like Rochas and Ngige that i'm feeling sorry for!

Yes, Buhari is the president of Nigeria but the Igbos have excluded themselves from Nigeria; they are Biafrans, so why should they expect juicy appointments from a country they call a zoo; as somebody already mentioned, why also should the president appoint a treasonable lot to such a security sensitive post?
Believe me you guys are truly incorrigible - only God can fix you.
