Advantages:

- It will likely last the rest of your life

- It is cheaper than a lot of original art

- you can get more than one

- they are beautiful when done by a good tattoo
artist

- they can be personalized and/or changed if
needed. Coverups are usually possible as an
alternative to removal.

- they may promote you to take better care of the
tattoo'd skin area such as using sunscreen regularly
and keeping it clean.

Disadvantages:

-long healing process esp. for large tattoos - weeks/
months so no swimming/sun and some itchiness is
common.

-some jobs/employers are strict about "no visible
tattoos"

-some colors fade over time, skin wrinkles - touch-
ups may need to be done

-there is always a slight risk of infection or
complications. Sometimes peoples bodies will reject
certain colors.

-that area of skin will never be the same even if
removed/covered up.

- cops/authorities may be able to identify you easier
so hopefully you won't need to hide from the law
