Tell that to fools. Biafra never attacked the Yorubas. We were heading to Lagos to dislodge the Nigerians who were using Lagos as their headquatres to attack Igbo people. Yorubas allowed the use of their supposed land as headquaters to attack us. We can't reach Lagos without passing through yorubaland. We went to the extent of appointing a yorubaman to lead the attack to show that our intentions are never to attack yoruba people. How can a yoruba commander kill his own people? But instead of either a) declaring your own independence of Nigeria, or b) allowing us safe passage to wage our war, or c) telling the northerners to get out of your territory and wage war from theirs, or any of many other available noble options to take, Awolowo instead chose to go under Gowon's table like a dog and sold his people's pride and integrity by joining forces with the oppressor contrary to everything he ever said before the war.

So whatever a yoruba man says today, we take with less than a pinch of salt because they can act and always do act contrary to their declarations.
