Well, if you are in your final year, then I expect you to be a good programmer. If you truly are a decent programmer, then Prolog will be a fine language to use, provided all you are doing is simulating this in software. If you do have an actual Robot and have to do embedded programming, then use whatever you can get to run on the Robot, be it assembly, basic, c, forth, javascript.

you can use lego mindstorms is a robotic kit It will make ur work super easy. it provide both the hardware and software component

python, c, c++ , arduino can do the job, but arduino is much better because it has a larger community xo u can easily get help..

I don't know of any brick and mortar stores in Lagos but you can source arduino components, shields and accessories on Konga.
