DELTA State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has called on Nigerians to be more righteous in their actions as the challenges facing the country can be surmounted by God.
Governor Okowa made the call at the official dedication of the auditorium of Church of God Mission International, DLA Provincial Headquarters, Asaba.
"The insurgency, the downturn in the oil prices causing economic woes, these things can be the things of the past when we continue to call on the name of the Lord in righteousness and I believe that God is already intervening," the Governor said.

He added, "I want to thank our religious leaders for all that they are doing in this country, we all need to stay dedicated to our prayers, it is not the time to place blame, it is time to call on the Lord and we will continue to call on the name of the Lord because, he answers us."

Governor Okowa assured Deltans that the state would witness tremendous growth during his administration and appealed for the cooperation of the people.
According to him, "it is time for Delta State to grow, but all hands must be on the plough, it is a partnership, everyone has a role to play, our administration is going to be fair, accountable and just, doing what is right and your duty as a Deltan is to cooperate with us, pray for us and with us because, only then can we achieve the best for our state."

He asserted that building a befitting edifice for God goes beyond the structure and challenged Christians in particular to rededicate themselves to God, stating that it was important for Christians to live righteous lives.

Earlier in a sermon, the Arch-Bishop of Church of God Mission International, Most Rev. Magaret Benson-Idahosa challenged Christians to be actively involved in evangelism, stating that Jesus Christ died for everybody and as such, Christians are in position to win more souls for Christ.
High point of the occasion which featured cultural dances was the dedication of the Church.
