Will Coal Mining Be Revived? by Boomboost(m): 5:04pm On Aug 03, 2015 |
There are nearly three billion {3,000,000,000} tonnes of indicated reserves in 17 identified coalfields and over 600 million tonnes of proven reserves in Nigeria. Some of the states where coal has been discovered in commercial quantity include Enugu, Benue, Kogi and Plateau States, respectively. Coal could solve the employment and electricity problems we currently facing though lack of funds for maintenance and investment are the major constraints. isn't there a way shares could be sold/bought by the public in other to gather capital or something to help this industry? |

Since the biggest coal mines are in Enugu and Kogi, you can be sure just based on the location of this resource, there will be no effort to develop it. If the coal were in Katsina or Kaduna, by now Nigeria will be exporting tons of coal. 1 Like |
