In 9th Aug. 1945, the United States dropped its second atomic bomb killing more than 70,000 people in Nagasaki, Japan. The first bomb had been dropped 3 days earlier on Hiroshima. Six days later on August 15th, Japan announced its surrender effectively ending World War II. Japan signed the Instrument of Surrender on September 2.
Japan, today, marks the 70th anniversary of this event that change the course of history on use of nuclear weapons. Japan is the only country where nuclear/atomic bomb has been used during war…

They have officially apologized long time ago.....then nobody knew the devastating effects of atomic bombs.
Also remember Japan attacked US first (Pearl Harbor), that prompted Frederick Roosevelt (then US President) to test the atomic bomb on Japan.
The type of modern atomic bombs world powers have developed in recent years can wipe out a whole nation....

they got over it many, many years ago and they have also gotten over the tsunami from 2011 as well. That is the power in determination and doggedness with visionary leadership!

But, one good thing that came out of this, is that Japan thereafter vowed to pursue science, and they invested so much in scientific research. They were determined as a people to learn how to build their own atomic bomb, and more. Today, Japan is a technological wonder nation, such that even the US copied their school curriculum for sciences.

This's how a people should react to oppression. Many years after slavery and colonialism, Africa have nothing to show as a people determined to free themselves from poverty.

Africa cannot develop without investment in grassroots science.
