Dygeasy:My brother, I have done business with Americans, Europeans and Chinese. And I know that the greatest thieves in the world are the USA and European banking system. Repatriating your capital or assets from these countries are almost impossible. If our boys are able to get some of these funds back to better their lives, then its a plus. My support for the Yahoo Yahoo boys is because it is a lesser evil. It is a foreign Exchange earner. And people that are supposed to be armed robbers terrorising the innocent people are now in Yahoo and Music industry. If you like claim to be a saint, but I know that if you know how to do it, you would have joined them. Do not act stupid, because you are not stupid. 2 Likes |

AllNaijaBlogger:The Russians, the chinese, and Americans own the deep web. Nigerians are not even making money but are given the bad names. Ponzi scheme is yahoo yahoo, and Mardoff made over 65 billion dollars. Has any Yahoo yahoo made such money in Nigeria. I want people to know that we are our enemies. 2 Likes |

Pal, 1, Lack of family planning: Means the children, families, communities and country will struggle to produce infrastructure at the rate of population growth. People in Nigeria are producing children on the basis of "god will provide" and not on the basis of can the family and society cope with food and other amenities? 2, Lack of population control: (regardless of corruption) Means Government cannot meet the demand for electricity, internet and other infrastructure required to match the rate of population growth. -over 100 million Nigerian citizens born due to lack of family planning, population control + because of primitive customs and traditions -If the population of Nigeria is 50 million, we already have enough electricity and other infrastructure. 3, Sabotage: Nigerian citizens are one of the most destructive and corrupt people on the planet, even if you build basic infrastructure the citizens will steal, vandalize, pilfer and destroy them for selfish gains and aims. Electricity transformers, cables, streets lights and other infrastructure meant for their own good are being stolen daily by the same citizens who demand them from government. -Internet infrastructure will be stolen by Nigerian citizens if government provide them. 4, Lack of will, initiative and innovation among Nigerians citizens: They lack the same drive Chinese and Indians living in SIMILAR poverty have, there are Indians studying java and ICT with candles and lantern then end up developing software and creating ICT policies for local and international businesses. All Nigerians want to do is go to church, pray for the next life, quick get rich schemes and party. |

We have a whole lot of legal biz online. They shld use their brain to design a powerful robot to trade forex. A robot that will scan the market and select pairs for u to trade for the day and never lose money, but rake in dollars in abundance. |

4.) HIGH COST OF GETTING 6.) [b] INCREASING COMPETITION – Traditional internet service providers are beginning to face increasing competition from internet services offered by mobile operators. The introduction of 3G services in the country has enabled many Nigerians to access the internet through mobile devices. Meanwhile, access to telecom services isn’t necessarily reliant on new cabling. While only 4 percent of people in the country have fixed telephone lines, 30 percent have cell phones. 8.) YAHOO-YAHOO – Another of Nigeria’s Internet problems is the growing internet culture among Nigerian youths representing more than 80 per cent of Nigeria’s population – Young minds due to lack of awareness, low number of Nigerian website on the internet, lack of Nigerian specific e-payment system and poor e-learning culture throng cyber cafes only to check their email accounts, visit pornographic sites, shop online with stolen credit cards and so many other negative vices that has come to be known as YAHOO YAHOO! Nigerians are generally technology illetrates. A company pays its monthly internet bills but still pays its staff manually, pays its bills manually. We are not properly leveraging on the capabilities which the internet offers. Our reputation on the internet is daily damaged by internet fraudsters (yahoo boys). The future of the internet and ICT lies with the upcoming generation. No clear stance on the direction of broadband penetration as our market is dominated by GSM telcos who buy up every available spectrum. Lastly and most important is the lack of power supply. This is the giant killer. If the govt can double their effort in this regard, then we are in for the internet el dorado. |

2.) POVERTY – Nigeria is a developing country consisting mainly of poverty-ravaged people who cannot afford three square meals a day. There is high cost of feeding, education, and health in the land. The poor ones will rather not waste their little income to access the internet when they have their priority as food, clothing and shelter. Many cannot afford to own a PC at home, even the fairly used ones being shipped from developed countries; talk less of engagement in internet connectivity for research and exploration. @op I totally disagree with you on this one, because this days you can get a good second hand PC (mind you a PC can be a desktop or a laptop) for less than 10k !! PC's are no longer costly like before and also pc's are not the only access to Internet, phones and other gadgets too can access the Internet, and please Nigeria is not a poverty ravaged country!!! |
