The 15th day of August every year is a special day in the lives of people from Mbaise. It is the day thatthe community celebrates it's new yam festival. The event is a very significant one in the largest community in West Africa. It is used to thank God for a successful yam harvest and to plead for more successful yam planting seasons. Therefore, if you are from Mbaise, hurry to the market now and buy some new yams. Teach your children about the tradition too. We must not allow such unifying tradition die away. I have my new yam already and y'all are invited! Long live Mbaise!!! Ise wu otu! |
