He is always in front if his herd not behind them because he leads them, not drive them. He carries a stick, not to beat, but guide and defend them with it. When they come to cross the road, he cross last, to make sure each one crosses safely. When they come to a pond, they drink the water first, before him. No matter how hungry he is, he will not eat from the gourd he always carry, until he is sure every member of his herd is satisfied. He knows the name of each member of his herd, and calls and dialogues with them individually or collectively. In time of danger, he has a distinct signal to tell them to disperse, and where to assemble. A Fulani man will never eat meat from a member of his herd (some never eat cow meat at all), because of the unwritten covenant between them. That's why the cow trusts its owner and obeys him. And that's why leaders are admonished to adopt the philosophy of the Fulani Herdsman in leading their people. -(Alhaji Yusuf Maitama Sule).

The herdsman kills anybody that dares challenge him for encroachment of his land. He'd rather see his cow alive and landowners dead than seeing the landowner alive and his cow starved.

Substitute Fulani Herdsman for Buhari and the cows for his fellow northerners then you ll get a clearer picture

I have heard Prof. Maitama Sule described Amadu Bello as a leader who led with the philosophy of a Fulani herds man. The Prof is very eloquent.

He kills and rapes at will with an ideology not fit for the 21st century.

Very True. We live with these merciless murderers for decades. They don't change. They just love killing farmers. Eating all the harvest in one fell swoop in the farm.
We can now Relate to Buhari actions since forever. Putting his Fulanis brothers everywhere in position not minding the cry across the land on nepotism. They are just heartless anytime and very inconsiderate.
These same Fulanis are hardly found in schools but are never scarce to occupy positions.

He also carries firearms to pillage and loot defenseless villages after grazing illegally on his victims land.
