World's Most Livable City In 2015 Is ...and 5 Least Livable by Nobody: 4:35pm On Aug 19, 2015 |
"The EIU ranking, which provides scores for lifestyle challenges in 140 cities worldwide, shows that since 2010 average liveability across the world has fallen by 1%, led by a 2.2% fall in the score for stability and safety. While this may seem marginal, it highlights that 57 of the cities surveyed have seen declines in liveability over the last five years," this year's report stated. Top five most livable: 1. Melbourne, Australia 2. Vienna, Austria 3. Vancouver, British Columbia 4. Toronto 5. Adelaide, Australia 5. Calgary, Alberta Least five livable: 136. Tripoli, Libya 137. Lagos, Nigeria 138. Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea 139. Dhaka, Bangladesh 140. Damascus, Syria I feel this list is wrong...Nairalanders what do you think?

Eurpean Intelligence Unit: WHILE residents of Melbourne enjoy another year in the world’s most liveable city, according to the 2015 Global Liveability Ranking from our corporate cousin the Economist Intelligence Unit, spare a thought for those who live in the 57 cities that have steadily deteriorated over the last five years. The ranking, which considers 30 factors related to things like safety, healthcare, educational resources, infrastructure and environment in 140 cities, shows that since 2010 average liveability across the world has fallen by 1%, led by a 2.2% fall in the score for stability and safety. Ongoing conflicts in Syria, Ukraine and Libya have been compounded by terrorist shootings in France and Tunisia as well as civil unrest in America. In Athens, austerity rather than unrest has weighed on the provision of public services, while Kiev saw the sharpest fall over the last 12 months and is now among the ten least liveable cities ranked. The most liveable places, notes the EIU, tend to be “mid-sized cities in wealthier countries with a relatively low population density”, which explains the low ranking of near-megacities like London and New York and goes some way to explaining Melbourne’s continued place as number 1.

oduastates:urban rural migration is the reason lagos is developing so calm down. America, UK used urban migration to their advantage and developed..lagos should've done same. Most business in lagos aren't owned by lagos indigenous . |

If the survey is from the Western Nations, it is not acceptable. But if you look it from Ajegunle, Mushin, Orile, Makoko point of view, they may be right. But looking at it again from VI, Ajah, Ikeja and Banana Island point of view, they are definitely wrong. Lagos should be around 80 something in the list. EKO BAJE TI |

Horlawoomey: I certainly agree with you....i just think it is too hard to shake the idea of bad Lagos from the foreign media, why? Lagos by Extension is the most populous Black state in the world. Nigeria strenght lies in its burgeoning economy capable of a least 2 twice its current size The numerous resource that lies within it contigous boundaries. Her people. In whose interest is it, if all things Nigeria is worthless? 1 Like |
