On Monday 24th August, 2015; Facebook recorded a historic 1 Billion users in a single day, that is 1 out of 7 persons on earth used facebook to connect with their families, friends and business concerns.

Mack Zuckerberg adequately thanked the community and said more growth and connection is projected in time due.

While others are so happy, I keep thinking differently as usual..:

Through facebook and its sister Whatsapp, our lives have been reduces to just "Virtual-ness". Real relationships are seen through the screen, many have also been broken through the screen. Real love has been substituted for the "repackaged or window dressed" love where everything goes through prudent editing and selection processes.

Your neighbours inform you of rain drenching the clothes you've sun dried through whatsapp and Facebook without helping you remove them.

Your friends on outing spend time facebooking or whatsapping for the whole length due to addiction.

Parties, birthdays and marriages are better celebrated on facebook as attention are paid more to the photographs to be posted for "likes" rather than the physical deal.

Women acquire their esteem on facebook via photographs

Men now hook up with the next Friday night's girl on facebook leaving their wives at home

Many decent teenagers have had their perception shaped from the excesses of this fake reality and they upped the game by taking pictures in Hotel rooms, bathtubs, shopping malls etc as if that's where they live.

Some people even get the news of their breakup on facebook

And we now operate a government of photographs on facebook. .

Some government officials even get notification of their removal on facebook or twitter and a copy is screen grabbed to them on whatsapp.

Finally, we now run another country called Nigeria on facebook as you get to see new names, houses, certificates etc on profiles of Nigerians when in reality they live in another Nigeria..

Perhaps we should not also forget that all our wailings and change movements due to good or bad government policies end on facebook..

Some people are also thinking of voting on facebook soon and they would expect Kogi and Edo Governorship election be decided on Facebook just like the April elections which also installed "government of the media" in its wake.
