According to the retail leasing team of Vice Chairman Faith Hope Consolo and Managing Director Joseph A. Aquino of GarrickAug Worldwide, Ltd., who serve as the exclusive national representative for Leggiadro, "The Miracle Mile is the 'Madison Avenue of Long Island' because of its elite roster of luxury retailers."

The retailer committed to a 10year lease for the space that was formerly home to Origins and plans to open in Spring 2005.

Ms. Consolo says, "This location is right in the heart of the finest retail boutiques from internationally acclaimed brands such as Prada, Dolce Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, Fendi, Valentino Shoes Eseada, Hermes, Chanel and Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Ralph Lauren and Donna Karan, among others.

"While these retailers flocked to the shopping center in the latter part of the nineties, there has been a recent influx of new luxury names, with nine new stores opening in the Summer/Fall of 2003, in conjunction with the architectural redesign of the luxury center's east end.

"The center's west side is just as spectacular, with the first freestanding Ellen Tracy boutique, which opened in September of last year, along with a freestanding Cartier, David Yurman and Van Cleef Arpels, also a client of ours, which debuted in Winter 2003/2004. Other luxury names that have recently opened include CH Carolina Herrera, Anne Fontaine and Lacoste. Americana Manhasset rivals even Worth Avenue in Palm Beach and Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills in terms of its ability to exude glamour."

"Leggiadro's clothing embodies sophisticated European styling and colors and appeals to the same customers who wear Chanel, Armani and other elite brands," adds Mr. Aquino. "However, Leggiadro suits shopper's everyday needs with its constant flow of new merchandise. Production is limited to maintain exclusivity, something that has made the brand all the more desirable."

Just last year, Ms. Consolo and Mr. Aquino brought Leggiadro to Beverly Hills, California and Southampton, New York. Prior to that, the team arranged Leggiadro's move Valentino Shoes On Sale to its flagship at 680 Madison Avenue, also known as the Carlton House, just a block south from its prior flagship store, which opened in 1985.

"Leggiadro is now ready to take its concept to other highprofile areas that work equally well for attracting its wellheeled clientele," concludes Ms. Consolo.

Negotiations on behalf of Americana Manhasset were handled inhouse by Joan Siegel of Siegel Consulting.

"Leggiadro" translated means something that is aesthetically beautiful, with the lightness and grace of a classic dancer. This is the type of product the owner had in mind when she founded the company. The clothing, which is made primarily in New York, is composed of raw materials from Italy, France, Switzerland and England. In addition to its New York, Beverly Hills and Southampton stores, the retailer also has locations in Palm Beach, Naples and Nantucket.
