When It Is Time To Say Goodbye To Marylyn Ogar And Others! by Duhduhduh: 2:55pm On Sep 03, 2015 |
In days of yore, graduates choosing to work in government service made their choices to do so not only to earn an income but also to serve the nation, for the love of nation, and for "job security". But how do we define, perceive, interprete "service to the nation" as a government employee "surfing the waves of changing government administrations "? Hmmm....How shall we interprete the phrase "service to the nation" against peculiar "occupational hazards" of some of these 'government jobs' vis-a-vis motivational implications (if any) for those in service and those intending to "serve the nation"? * A Latin proverb says, "Fortune to one is mother, to another step-mother" https://www.thecable.ng/breaking-marilyn-ogar-compulsorily-retired GOD bless Nigeria! |

If you have ever worked in the civil service, you will understand the dangers of disobeying your superiors. Ogar, I believe was following orders. And sacking her may just be a litmus test for some surbodinates in the various ministeries, and para ministries of the nations civil service. PMB, please don't destroy what is left of the civil and public service. What Lawal Daura is doing to Dasuki and others isn't different. It's bad that professionalism in the service is gradually paving way for those who can do anthing to curry favors from politicians. Destroying discipline and hierarchical orders in the service may just be doing more damages. |
