The panel of judges for the Rivers State Governorship Election Tribunal has been reconstituted.

Justice Muazu Pindiga has been replaced by another judge as Chairman of the tribunal.

DAILY POST reports that the development drew an intense protest from the respondents.

Counsel to Governor Nyesom Wike described it as moves by subterranean forces that might be at work to ensure that the outcome of the petition favours a particular political party.

He urged the tribunal to give the respondents some time to review the development before taking further action.

Counsel to the petitioners, Akin Olujimi, also expressed surprise at the development, but urged the tribunal not to waste any more time, considering the fact that time is of essence in the election petition case.

After listening to the concerns, the new chairman of the tribunal ruled that he had to take charge of the tribunal following an order of the Appeal Court in a letter he said was dated 1st of September.

The panel also held that any party that is aggrieved as a result of the reconstitution of the panel should file a protest to the appropriate authorities

Meanwhile, hearing of the Rivers State governorship election petition has opened in full, as the first set of witnesses called in by the petitioners have started undergoing cross examination.

This is victory for democracy. Its obvious that APC will take over Rivers state.
PDP never won the election because there was no election in Rivers state.
Wike is a goner because he can't survive without a federal might.
No military, no police, no PEJ or GEj.
I pity those saying even if election is conducted 1000 times, wike will win. There will be a conspiracy against wike unless if PDP will replace him with a Riverine candidate.

Nice move. Now apc is be having like the party in power. That was how they, especially buhari sat back playing the hollier than thou attitude while the pdp played dirty and took the deputy Senate presidency. If it was pdp in power this tribunal would have delivered judgement long time ago. But buhari de dull sometimes sha. Wike must be removed in 2 weeks.

Even if election is conducted ten times in Rivers state pdp will still win, there are no two ways about it. Apc have no place in Rivers.

I see Wike going. This time he will be campaigning from outside with no special backing from the army, police and dangerous thugs. Once his elections are nullified, efcc will swoop on him with regard to his looting of ministry of education. Police will ask him to explain what he knows about the several gruesome murders during his campaign.

His cup will be overflowing. Then things will begin to fall apart. Most of his cronies now will desert him. By the time he is free from efcc, the police, elections would have been concluded. How about that? Just my hunch.
