Following the Ojuelegba trailer tragedy which claimed 3 lives last week, the Lagos state government has now declared it an offence for heavy duty vehicles, such as trailers and trucks, to move between 6am and 9pm... Ministry of Transportation Permanent Secretary, Mr Oluseyi Whenu told reporters on Saturday that trailer contravened Section 2 (i) and 2 (ii) of the Traffic Law. Government, he said, would, henceforth, go tough against any trailer and long vehicle that contravened the law, adding that the vehicle will be impounded and the owner fined. http://www.pijangonews.com/2015/09/lagos-govt-bans-movement-of-trailers.html

This law is effective when? Am in traffic at Maryland and trailers and trucks are plying the road with other vehicles  |

This is not sufficient. The Ministry of Transportation as well as Federal Road Safety Corps must ensure only good and well fit vehicles ply our roads. |

Outright ban is best solution for lazy thinkers. The Governor just dey show that he is not capable. I can bet that this so called ban would not work. |
