I believe that is a backwards notion for a modern world, if you read Quran, Bible and other books, you gain more knowledge and have a better understanding of what you are believing and can confidently argue against unbelievers like me, but if you live in your bubble, and are ignorant, then you stand no chance... religion as whole is dragging Nigeria down and creating a massive hole in the pockets of gullible Nigerians.

Most of the knowledge that has propelled the human race into what is known in the 21st century, is because people dared to challenge the norm, and investigate it further, Aristotle, said heavy objects always fall faster to earth than lighter objects and people believed this to be true for decades till someone bordered to it test out... even basic knowledge like the fact the earth was not at the centre of the universe the catholic church burnt people, who believed this... but today we send communications/tv satellites in to space, having calculated all the effects of the gravitation and radiation from the sun on them.

but hey, my insistence of understanding the universe created by "the Mythical Zeus or the Yoruba Ọlọ́run" in a provable and verifiable way is dumb... for a 21st century Nigerian?

saved: what does it really mean?
if say I am "saved" who can say I am not?

if being saved is the criterion for going to heaven, how can one calibrate ones level of "savedness"?

if "in my father's house (Kingdom) there are many mansions", how come there is only one entrance (Jesus)?

No other man of God suffers the same trial as glaring as tb joshua. I mean the name alone inspire hate. If ur in a ministry and ur yet to see your pastor suffers persecution to embarrasing level,( not the one he told you, i mean the one you withness).pls kindly move away, he is not growing. Its the persecution we suffer as christian s that make us know to the world.


The name synagogue speaks for itself .neither a Pentecostal nor catholic, or a celestial.CNT fit it in a box. Its a church for all nations.

Not a member of CAN.. Or any know christian group.pretty much stands alone.

Have you ever been in a church where someone stands in your face and give testimony about being delivered form the spirit of pornography or masturbation?.. Well let's just say not all ministries can handle that.

Recently saw tb Joshua crusade in mexico.
Well this packed a whole stadiums in an non English county.with CeCe winas and Alvin slaughter in attendance. Yes! The false prophet you know.

Finally. Christ in his life time wasn't popular, he was controversial. If history on Christianity has thought me anything, is to keep an eye for the controversial once.

Did I mention A.A allen made a prophesy to this day concerning him. Naija wait, for it, its coming.

What does a secular church look like?

Would it be easy to find one?

If we find something in the church that is contrary to Scripture but is taught in the secular world, then that church has become--in part--secularized. The more we find from the world in the church, the more that church is secularized.

Following is a list of things that, in my opinion, are examples of secularization in the church. Of course, this list is not exhaustive nor is it authoritative. It is my opinion. Nevertheless, it is offered as food for thought.

1. Teaching that the Bible is not inspired and inerrant.

The Bible is the Word of God (2 Tim. 3:16) and is the measure of truth and righteousness. To claim that it is not inspired is to reduce it to the level of the Quran, or the Bhagavad-Gita, or the Book of Mormon which are mere man-made writings posing as inspired words from God.

When the authority of God's Word is lost, then man-made doctrines creep in. The authority and inspiration of Scripture is the anchor that keeps the church from drifting into error.

2. Using books instead of the Bible in Bible study.

It is okay to use books that assist in Bible study, but the Bible should be the central source of spiritual truth, not books about the Bible. If Bible studies are using guidebooks more than the Bible itself, then the Bible has been moved to a secondary position. If Christians are having trouble understanding God's Word, then the pastor (or Bible study leader) needs to teach them how to find its truths, so they can check all things in Scripture by themselves (Acts 17:11).

3. Teaching that there is more than one way to God besides Jesus.

In this world of relativism, it is not popular to claim that Jesus is the only way to be saved. But this is what the Bible says. John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me." Also, Acts 4:12, "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved." There is no other way to be saved. The Muslims, the Buddhists, the Taoists, etc., cannot be saved without Jesus.

4. Being embarrassed to say that Jesus is the only way to salvation.

Like the issue above, Jesus is the only way (John 14:6). Christians should never be ashamed (Rom. 1:16) to speak the truth of God's saving work in Christ. For some, to be timid and embarrassed means that one's eyes are off of God and on people.

5. Teaching that there is no absolute right and wrong.

As mentioned above, moral relativism is the norm of society. We often hear, "It is true if it is true for you." The Bible tells us that there are moral absolutes independent of what we think is right. Exodus 20:1-17 is a list of the ten commandments which are moral absolutes. The Bible teaches us there is absolute right and wrong. Without moral absolutes, no one can say anything is right or wrong.

6. Being careful to not offend anyone at the expense of Biblical truth.

Whether or not someone likes what the Bible says does not change the truth of the Bible. We should not be offensive just to be offensive, but we should not be afraid to speak the truth of God when the need arises. The gospel that offends no one is not the gospel of the Bible.

Is your church becoming secular? Are you? If either, start praying, repent of anything you believe or do that is contrary to Scripture. Start praying for your church and study God's Word. Let it be your guide.

@O.P- Point 5 is highly contentious.Think about it,is anything really absolute?

-God abhors adultery,yet he commanded Hosea to marry a prostitute.

-He hates murder yet he commanded Saul to wipe out women and children.

-He hates Jealousy but is himself a jealous God

-He called certain animals unclean to eat in the Old testament but clean to eat in the New testament

-In Deut.22:11,he says that "you shall
not wear a garment of different sorts such as wool and linen mixed together",yet such laws don't hold today.

Of course in context you may have explanations for the above.You may argue that in the new dispensation certain laws are gone etc,but it only proves that nothing is absolute but rather relative and subject to time and various circumstances.

The Bible is as much the word of god as is the Quran and all these other 'holy' books you named. Christians are quick to quote Timothy forgetting that when Timothy wrote his piece there was no Bible. He was talking about his own writing which he believed is the word of god. Is the bible inerrant? It must take a bigot to believe otherwise, why not, if 'common' humans know that slavery which the great word of god sanctioned is abominable and so abolished it.
Religion is diverse. Intact diversity is the beginning and end of religion. People must learn to live and let others live too. Let's Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and the rest practice their religion. The much you laugh at theirs is how much they laugh at yours. Some of the Christian beliefs are outrightly ridiculous to them also. And don't forget their messiahs were already dying for them and being born by virgin mothers before Christianity came about.

A popular man of God in my city, Benin(i won't mention his name) once held a crusade. So as to persuade more people to come, he decided to invite KANU and OKOCHA. The only reason why 80-90% of Nigerians are Christians is because they are born into the family. Someone suggested you read other books to expand your knowledge, and you start to trade insults at the person. Why don't you think, "God" must have given us a brain for a purpose, use it. Think about this; what if you were born in Syria, or Iran, or India or Shangai? One even went to the extent of saying Muslims, Buddhist, and all wont enter heaven, smh!. Try being logical; Was Abraham, Moses, Solomon, Noah or even Adam christians? I believe the Bible believed in the existence of these righteous beings, but then according to your ignorant self, they won't be going heaven, of course they are not Christians.
So please, just think, read vast, think, read vast, think.. Repeat these and you will be on your way to real salvation
