My sincere and candid suggestion to the
Federal Government of Nigeria goes thus:
A Senator of the Federal Republic earns
Thirty Six Million Naira (#36,000,000:00)
per month.
If this is divided into two (2) which is fifty
percent (50%), the Senator collects
Eighteen Million Naira (#18,000,000:00)
per month and the remaining balance of
#18,000,000:00 can be used to employ 200
Nigerians who will earn Ninety Thousand
Naira (#90,000:00) per month.
200 people multiply by 109 Senators =
21,800 employees. This invariably means,
200 Nigerians can live comfortably on half
of monthly income of just one Senator.
A Honourable Member of the Federal
House of Representatives, earns Twenty
Five Million Naira (#25,000,000:00) per
month.
If this whooping amount is divided into
two (2) which is also fifty percent (50%), a
Honourable earns Twelve Million, Five
Hundred Thousand Naira (#12.5m) per
month.
The remaining balance of #12.5million can
be used to employ 135 Nigerians who will
earn Ninety Two Thousand, Five Hundred
Naira (#92,500) per month.
135 Nigerians multiply by 360 Honourable
Members in the Green Chamber (Federal
House of Reps.) = 48,600 employees.
Meaning that, 135 Nigerians can live
comfortably on half of a monthly income
of just a Honourable Member.
By analogy, it means that, this present
administration under President
Muhammadu Buhari can actually employ
70,400 Nigerians that will earn #90,000
and #92,500 respectively, from the
supposed reduction of monthly income of
109 Senators and 360 Honourable
Members in Nigeria.
Same could go for States.
