sadie Cratchley, 20, was rushed to the emergency
room when she started to go into labour four months
early.
Her tiny baby was born by emergency caesarean
section; she measured just 10.8 inches and weighed
just 1lb 2oz – half the weight of a bag of sugar.
Tragically, Sadie was told by doctors that there was
99 per cent chance her unborn baby would die in
delivery.
They informed the new mum that if she had gone
into labour just one day earlier they would not have
tried to save her newborn baby.
When she heard the news Sadie said she was
terrified and distraught.
She said: "When they told me that l I just cried and
cried. The doctors asked us to decide whether we
wanted them to try and save her or not.”
