The management of Lacasera Company Plc has yet to comply with the order from the National Industrial Court’s ruling to recall the sacked 700 workers, seven days after. This development was confirmed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) by the Head of Education Department, National Union of Food Beverage and Tobacco Employees, (NUFBTE), Mr Mike Olanrewaju. NAN reports that the management of Lacasera had on Sept. 14 dismissed 700 workers based on what it described as invasion of its premises by hoodlums. The NIC had in its injunction restrained the management from sacking the employees and directed it to reabsorb them. “The Lacasera management has not recalled the affected workers since the court gave the order on Sept. 17, but they are making efforts to settle issues with us.’’ Olanrewaju said the union would hold a meeting before taking any action, while it would also wait for the court to hear the case. http://www.360nobs.com/2015/09/7-days-after-lacasera-yet-to-recall-700-dismissed-workers-in-spite-of-courts-order/ 1 Like 1 Share |

Useless Nigerian justice system,are they not suppose to order them not to produce anything until those workers are recalled? Just the same way DSTV ignored the court order foreigner have no regard for us our judiciary are the biggest disgrace to this country 2 Likes |

I hope NLC will rise up to fight the cause of the affected workers. Although they are not part of the union, nonetheless, they are Nigerian workers and they need the help of the body at this time. |

Funny enough I've always been skipping this story right from the beginning in other words am clueless about anything La'cassera is doing to its staffers. Drinking that LaCasera is like drinking poison, very sugary content.. I'm sure they've been experiencing decline in sales that prompted the dismissal of their staffs, then they cooked up a story to justify their actions.. |
