Mr. Arase has announced that four thousand
“operational policemen are working in partnership
with the military to end insurgency” in the
northeast.



The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase,
issued a public statement to reinforce its partnership
commitments between the Police Force and Nigerian military
to combat Boko Haram and protect civilians in the northeast.



The personal safety of Nigerians living in the northeast States
of Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe has been in jeopardy for years
following the brutal Boko Haram insurgency. The Nigerian
military and Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) have been
responsible for protecting civilians in the northeast, especially
in recent months.


Earlier this week SaharaReporters reported that the
spokesman for the 7th Army Division, Colonel IT Gusau,
banned all unauthorized vehicular and animal traffic in Borno
State, following increased threats by Boko Haram during Eid
Kabir.


Mr. Arase has announced that four thousand “operational
policemen are working in partnership with the military to end
insurgency” in the northeast.
Mr. Arase’s statement came during a US delegation visit to the
Police Force Headquarters in Abuja.
