You are highly appreciated for this wonderful one. Let me start by telling all Nigerians that those beggars that visits various packs and intimidate the passengers by saying they are men of God.
ALHAMDULILAH for controlling my anger, this pastor was attacking Muslims that we don't use to give offerings to the needys , what an insult !
Its illogical to pray in the name of blood or any form of diety like soliciting from Osun river . Lets pray directly to Almighty God that created every creatures in the globe including JESUS and Muhammad {SAW}
All drivers must go through mental test to assure safety on our roads.

Thank you OP.
Majority of Nigerians are irresponsible people and they show this irrational attitude on the road.
Majority of drivers in Nigeria don't know speed limits.
You see Nigerian drivers driving on streets in residential areas like they are driving Formula One race.
Now you wonder how illiterates who cannot read and write got their drivers license?
The accidents in Nigeria will be reduced by 90% when the Federal Road Safety Commission does the following simple things:

1. Road Safety Campaigns on TV,, newspapers, radio and social media.
2. Road Safety Campaigns at motor parks and depots.
3. Road Safety Campaigns in churches, mosques, schools and clubs.
4. Ban the sale of alcohol and smoking at motor parks.
5. Check all public transport buses and cars at the motor parks before they drive out of the motor parks and impound all vehicles that are not road worthy and STOP COLLECTING BRIBES FROM ERRING DRIVERS!
6. Impound the cars, buses, SUVs and trucks of over speeding drivers and fine them N200, 000 or more for endangering the lives of other road users.
7. Stop selling drivers license to illiterate drivers.

A similar body, the Vehicle Inspection Office Driver and Vehicle Licensing Administration (VIO-DVLA) which primary aim is to standardise drivers’ license certification process and maintain a database of certified drivers and vehicles for the enforcement of road traffic laws in Nigeria, has also not lived up to expectations.

As the rate of road accidents increase in Nigeria on daily basis, it becomes urgent that the government looks into existing regulatory bodies or create new ones and mandate them to work closely with road transport companies.

Make V I O no catch you.
I think the function more within the city.

if u've travelled extensively on Nigerian roads ; you'll notice that you hardly find wreckage caused by car accidents on roads with very wide medians separating two lanes. unlike the single lane roads 4 both coming and going traffic.

So the govt should adopt the very wide median (more than 3m) when constructing interstate roads.

Got the point of your post but do you mean to tell me your own faith isn't a reality, you may need to stop playing religion and develop a relationship with Christ, CHRIST IS REAL.

Yes, CHRIST IS REAL alright but shameless and jobless ibo fake and 419 preachers should stop deningrating the holy name by preaching in buses and asking people to sow the seed for the word and for prayer. They are rogues.

Some preach and claim to represent phantom and phoney orphanage homes with photoshop images to deceive people they gather the money for helpless victims in dire conditions.
They are rogues that should be stoned.

These criminals are ALWAYS IBOS.
They invoke the name of CHRIST under false guises to defraud the gullible people in commercial and luxurious buses.

I partially agree with your assertion because in the developed world accident cases are not much frequent as ours. The problem is with us and the NURTW. This association has been be taken over by touts, drunkards and paraga sellers and we trust our lives in their hands...
I suggest that the solution will should be proper enlightenment and enforcement so as to get rid of touts in our parks. Also, mechanic shops to should be centred in all our parks to checkmate each vehicle loading passangers.
NB: How will those that targets soole (pick and drop) ask questions about the state of the car?

But leave religion outta this. I am a Christian and I pray anytime I enter either a public transport or a personal car. I believe in God and his saving power and cannot entrust my life into any technology that can fail @ any time.

You nailed it. We should take those precautions listed. However leave prayers out of it. One should still watch and pray (not bought prayers though). Both are important.

@ op religion was able to find ways into our daily activities cos of the failed system that we call government. A government that couldn't provide good roads, standard transportation network, no credible transport alternatives, no standard auto inspection institutions and that's why religion became highly celebrated in nigeria. The day government rise up to its responsibility will be the day craze for religion die natural death in Nigeria. All these are just mere n easy things for people that run serious government.

I sincerely think that as Nigerians, we need to embrace science and technology, study it and understand it as much as we studied and understand religion and faith. It will do us a great deal!

I am devoted Christian, but the way we allow religion and faith kill us is amazing! You board a vehicle from a motor park, with driver, and instead of trying to check and ask questions if the driver is qualified, licensed, fit, not under alcoholic influence we’ll rather prefer to donate monies to fake preachers who board to tell you how people die on road accidents because they did not donate monies to pastors.

They preach and tell you how to cover the driver, vehicle, tyres and steering with the blood of Jesus, and we all shout a loud ‘Amen’.

Why do we derive joy in looking for witches and wizards, when we fail to do the primary things to guaranty our safety? For how long can the blood of Jesus allow decrepit vehicles convey us from Abuja toLagos?

I will prefer we have technical experts visit motor parks, instead of fake pastors, and sensitise passengers on how to spot inexperienced, unlicensed or drunk drivers, and what to check out for before boarding any commercial vehicle. They should advice technically on the conditions of vehicles before going on the roads. The bad side is that Nigerians are not good in voluntary assignments that do not pay and road users will not be willing to give tips to such volunteers. They prefer to give to men of God who threaten them with hell fire and dangers.
This is why I prefer to fly when on long trips, because the road transport industry and system in Nigeria is suicide mission, and has little or no functional regulatory body and so anyone can bring any vehicle and anyone as driver. Admittedly, our airways are not as safe, however, the industry is run by highly specialised professionals who have so much at stake in the event of any accident.

Created in February 1988, the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, which functions generally relates to making the highway safe for motorists and other road users, has failed and its purpose almost defeated.

I appeal we separate religion/faith from reality (science and technology) because if we have good vehicles, good and fit drivers and new tyres, the rate of our road accidents on our roads will reduce, while a large amount of the blood of Jesus would be saved for better things.

We all know speed is a major factor in many accidents. However, speeding causes not all accidents and not all accidents are preventable. Yet there are steps you can take to help prevent accidents. These include driving slowly when the weather is bad.
Replace worn tyres and brakes as needed. Keep windshield washer fluid full and change out windshield wipers on a regular basis.
Not only do seatbelts keep you safe in an accident, it will help avoid accidents as well. Seatbelts will hold you in place during an aggressive manouvre. Back off and do not tailgate or allow others to tailgate you.

Do not assume the other vehicles will stop just because the light is red.Do not drive behind an 18-wheeler on the highway. A blown tyre can cause an accident.
Do not rely on your mirrors when making a lane change. All vehicles have “blind spots” in which your mirrors cannot see. Do not ride in the blind spots of other vehicles.
Always keep your windshield wipers going in the rain. Defrost your windshield to keep it from fogging up. Turn on your headlights to help others to see you–this is also the law in some states.

It is always best to have a “designated driver”. Never drive after you have had alcoholic beverages. Even one beer can alter your ability to drive safely.
Always use your signal, even if you think no one is there. When changing lanes on the freeway, do not signal as an afterthought or during the lane change. Signal at least a couple of seconds in advance so others know what you are going to do before you do it.

I stand by my presentation because it is an observation that has cut across several routes and years.

No luxirious bus plying inter-state routes is free of them.
They have equally diversified to city and local buses and THEY ARE ALMOST ALWAYS OF THE IBO STOCK.

I REPEAT, THEY ARE DENIGRATING THE HOLY NAME OF CHRIST. IT MAKES ME ASHAMED AS A CHRISTIAN.

THEY NEED TO BE STONED.
THEY SHOULD BE STOPPED.
AGAIN, THEY HAVE AN ANNOYING WAY OF IMPOSING THEMSELVES ON COMMUTERS.
SAY WHAT YOU WILL, BUT THATS THE TRUTH.
THEY ARE ROGUES, IMPOSTORS AND FAKE PASTORS AND THEY ARE ALWAYS . . . IBOS.
DEAL WITH IT THE WAY YOU LIKE AND SCHOOL YOURSELF AND NOT ME.

order and see how ur fellow passengers will
attack u for driver distraction. In some interstate buses, apart from merchants of
'blood of Jesus' there may also be those selling fake drugs. Our welfare on the roads is in the good hands of God. Our system is messed up brother.

Some of you so called christians are already insulting and claiming to know God, without understanding what the topic is about, all this fake believers! Are quick to defend God, use the brains that God has already giving to you, think rationally, health and safety is very important, did God not say he helps those who help themselves? Ofcourse God will save people but people need to try and save themselves also.by following safety rules. Some nigerians don't even bother to wear sit belt, they don't even know how to wear it or what seat belt are made for. It boggles the mind.
