Why did you now accept admission for petroleum engineering?? Anyway you're already in 300 level so just finish. Maybe when you're done and living independently then you could dabble a little into electrical stuff. But seriously for now, concentrate on what you're already doing. I think you'd be happier as a Network Engineer. You get to play with different cable types (UTP, Coaxial, Fibre etc.) and interact with electronic devices. Its Electrical embedded in Computing. A very large percentage of IT professionals, particularly Network Engineers have a degree in Electrical Engineering. Its never too late to start a career in IT irrespective of your degree. I'll put up a post on Friday morning (@ www.techbusiness101.com) on how to go about it, given your background; set a reminder. Please remember; finishing your degree program is critical.
