Disability is very variant in our society today, with up to 5% of everyone you see with one form of deformity or the other.
Surviving as an able-bodied person is quite hard talkless of when you are disabled.
What do you suggest a disabled person can do to survive? (take the example of someone that has graduated from school but got his leg amputated because of an accident).

I have a quirky feeling you are the person in question?
If you are not... No offense, but here are certain things the person can do.
1. A self promise to be happy- Sometimes life is just at it is, after all, we will all die and go 6 feet under, just because the person is disabled, (s)he should not spend all day sulking or questioning God, but find a reason, any reason, to be happy and stay alive.
3. Living within his/her means- Assuming the disability does not include constant health care cost, then the person in question should find a way to live a meagre, sparse lifestyle.
4. Getting a suitable job- We all know that this is Nigeria, and its a bit hard finding a good job, but I would advice this individual to start small. Most big corporations are biased against disabled person due to increased employment cost, so the person should try smaller companies, who won't mind a skillfully disabled person. And still yet, the person can find a stay at home side job, like marketing products online for people, working as an estate agent, freelance writing online.
5. Go spiritual- The psychological pressure the society puts on disabled person, can sometimes break the soul of the individual, this is where God and Religion comes in, whether its the bible, Quran Torah, the person should build a relationship with God, so in times of emotional distress (s)he he would pull through.

We live happily like able- bodied. Its mindset that does the magic and encouragement from all and sundry. Thou shall not pity is the 1st and last rule.

In the case of an amputee, the person can have an artificial leg which does not really make the individual confined to a place. Getting a job will be very much easier with good grades, nice dressing and smiles..
