plz why do sum people call toyota carmy [OROBO] a 1998 model, i went thru the net and the car is a 1995 make, the same goes for honda accord baby boy its a 1997/98 and toyota carmy[PENCIL] is a 19899 model while toyota camry [fish] is a 99/200 model |

I'm not sure of the Nigerian names, they mean little to me. I do however know a lot of sellers are erroneous in their descriptions. For example, a Toyota Camry was manufactured in 1998, and first registered in 1999 in a different country, say the United States. It's then exported to Nigeria in 2008 and registered at the same time. It's then up for sale in 2009, and described as "1 year old Toyota Camry." Very missleading! The year starts from first registration in whatever country it was sold in, not when it was registered in Nigeria! The annoying thing is, this is generally a deliberate attempt to make the car seem newer than it really is, the seller knows exactly what he / she is doing, but tend to play the "ignorant" card. Sometimes they also blatantly advertise a '95 model as a '99, and when challenged, will either say it was an error, verbally abuse you (most likely) or insist the year is correct, even if you provide evidence that particular model was [i]not [/i]available in the year they claimed it was! |

Another confusing description is: "Honda Accord, 2000 / 2002 model." The car would have been built in less than 2 weeks in any given calender year, unless the workers were on a "go slow" in terms of production, and completion took 2 years! The car would cost 4 times as much, if that were the case, and the workers would be on less than a $ an hour at that rate!  |
