Igbos and Yorubas won't burn this country for us! I'm posting this photo to correct this rumour going up and down about people in diaspora leaders can't wear their crown to visit the state king. That is the Eze Ndigbo of kano with Sanusi. Whenever my owan people want to visit the Emir in kano, our Enogie goes with his full regalia, and nothing has happened. Even in universities, when a tribe in the school want to visit a traditional leader, they go along with their appointed or voted king/queen. 142 Likes 14 Shares |

Igbos everywhere you go edited truth be told, eze ndigbos are meant to be in every state in nigeria, to protect her people's interest, why obas are not in south east and north is because only few yoruba people are found there, these set of people don't like exploring round nigeria, they prefer staying in their south west region only, so they should allow igbos to go about with their normal eze ndigbo activities and stop causing violence, thats what one nigeria is meant for. 49 Likes 3 Shares |

breadandtea: The traditional culture in the North is very different from what is obtainable in the south west. In Yoruba tradition, the subject of a King can not wear a beaded crown in the presence of the King. It is that simple. 141 Likes 7 Shares |

Thank you op. Speaking up by people like is the reason why some of us still have hope in Nigeria. Otherwise it looks debilitating when you live in a country with a people who think others must bend to their way of thinking. Thank God you made reference to Igbo and Yoruba fight, I assure you that the only thing that implicates Igbo in that fight is self-defense. We are being attacked unprovoked by this people. The hate is too deep. 30 Likes 3 Shares |

Murderator: Having gone beyond incendiary headlines, to review the circumstances which resulted in the current breakdown of ethnic relations in Akure, I am in complete agreement with you. With respect to pt #2, I think his transgression was not simply to do with the "crown" he wore but the inauspicious circumstances under which it was worn. Apparently, after being corrected by palace officials who explained that his action was considered a taboo in Akure, he continued with his defiance nonetheless - see Youtube video included below. The following article also speaks to the restless combativeness which seemingly underscored his visit to the palace. You will note that the picture I attached (further below), which was taken from a video on Youtube, shows him sitting alongside the Olowo in his full regalia. No problem there, as it was for a specific festival. Then comes the story of an Eze. Worried by his alleged disrespect for his host and apparent disdain for the Akure monarchy, the man had been suspended as the Eze Ndigbo by the Deji of Akureland, Oba Ogunlade Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo, Odundun II, whose office had bestowed on him the title in the first instance. What was Iloh’s infraction? A market in the city, which had hitherto enjoyed the leadership of indigenes of the state capital, had succumbed to the subtle but powerful mercantile and commercial power of their Igbo brothers. Before the natives knew what was happening, the Igbo had imposed their suzerainty on the market and were not only determining the leadership of the market but ensuring that natives did not have a say in the affairs of their own market. In my view, your third and fourth points zero-in on what set the current chain of events in motion. Where does this particular Eze Ndigbo derive his authority to decide who the local market leaders should be? In reference to Beremx's post, why aren't his equivalents not appointing market leaders all over Lagos - in a similar act of defiance? Meet Igbo celeb woman who is Iyaloja of Oluwole market in Lagos Source The dethronement of the Ohaneze Ndigbo by Deji of Akure. the ibo people turn out en mass to protest the decision of the Oba of Akure. 13 Likes 1 Share

Igbos know who their real enemies are,so it not about wearing of crown to visit dirty Oba. Their acts, activities and attitudes towards the Eze ndi Igbo reek of jealousy and hate. The dirty Oba was simple intimidated by the Eze ndi Igbo presence and swag, may be he was putting some kind diamond ornaments the oba can't afford in his entire life. You know Igbos and show off. ichoku: Absolute bunkum. Are ibos the only non Yorubas living in Yorubaland? Why are others able to co exist peacefully and ibos are not? Why are ibos having the same issues everywhere they find themselves? Yorubas are about the only people who can tolerate ibos until the ibos started to think they can kick sands in Yorubas face and get away with it. Big mistake. 35 Likes 1 Share |

breadandtea: @OP, since you're from Owan, I guess you've heard of Igarra. Whenever the Royal Family has a Case in Court with the Non-Royal Families, our King (Otaru) does put on his Crown to the Court Premises, but the self-acclaimed Kings (non-royal family heads) don't try that because the Court doesn't recognise them. If Eze-Ndigbo has a Court Case against the Deji, can he (Eze) put on his Crown to the Court? If NO, why then would he put on his Crown when visiting the Deji?! 22 Likes 1 Share |

In Yoruba land if even a Yoruba king is going to visit another Yoruba king he doesn't put his crown on. He can only wear a cap. Unless they are meeting somewhere neutral. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

The oba of akure is suffering from acute Inferiority complex. Nobody is dragging Oba throne with him . If the Eze ndi igbo is truly disrespectful to the Oba, why then did he honour the Oba's invitation. Eze ndi Igbo is simply the elected leader of Igbo pple living in akure, how does his position challenge the position of the Oba of akure? The Oba behaved like a common street tout Like Oba of akure, most yoruba youth are suffering from acute inferiority complex. That's why they demand for respect rather than work hard to earn it. The Ogba ewu (Goat market) in head bridge market in Onitsha is dominated by hausas, even those some igbos sell goat there also, an Hausas man has always been the leader of the market and neither the Obi of Onitsha nor Igbos youths in Onitsha has ever felt threatened. Everybody is more occupied with their business. Why would an Oba feel threatened when an Igbo man becomes a leader in a market highly dominated by Igbos? Inferiority complex is the answer. I understand that yorubas hate competition in their land especially if the competitor is from another tribe. But they should know that America is great today bcus they welcome competition. Igbos leave igboland to yorubaland, not that yorubaland is more developed than Igboland, but simply bcus business in Igboland is highly competitive , unlike in yorubaland. In Igboland, everybody has the business brain which makes it highly competitive environ. Yorubas are not known for buying and selling, they are more of white collar jobs, which is an advantage for Igbos in yorubaland who are more of business merchants. The yorubas , hausas and other tribe exemption of Igbo always scream 'one Nigeria'. But Igbos are the tribe who practicalize 'one Nigeria' mantra, and yet they are hated for that. 70 Likes 7 Shares |
