God is Indeed a Great God.
Jaxon Emmett Buell is a true miracle baby: He
was born with a rare brain malfunction called
Microhydranencephaly, which left most of his
skull and brain missing. Doctors gave him just
days to live, yet Jaxon has defied all the odds
and celebrated his first birthday on August 27.
The sweet wee boy has been dubbed Jaxon
Strong via his many social media supporters, and
for good reason – he was a fighter even before
he was welcomed to the world by parents
Brittany and Brandon Buell. Doctors first noticed
MRI discrepancies when Brittany was 17 weeks
pregnant, and the couple was faced with a
recommendation to terminate the pregnancy at
23 weeks.
But they refused. “Who are we to decide?”
Brandon recalled to The Daily Mail. “We were
given a child, we are given a chance and we
have to be his voice. We did everything we could
to give him a fighting chance and all he’s done
since being born is fight right back.”
Jax didn’t just survive until birth – he’s also
defied doctors’ predictions that he would never
walk, never talk, never hear and never see. His
parents know they still need to take things day
by day, but they’ve amassed enough to afford
Jaxon’s medical bills via a GoFundMe page set
up by their friends.

We’re sending Jax all the birthday love – he’s a
true inspiration, and we can’t get enough of his
infectious spirit and crazy adorable lil’ face. We
hope to see much more of it for many years to
come!

As long as his cerebellum and brain stem are intact, he will have normal heart and lung functions and those are the basic things he needs to live.

But complications with adaptation, learning and memory may start arising as he gets older.
And the doctors better start coming up with a plan for that time.

I'm happy for the baby and for the mother, especially.
It's not easy coping with this psychologically
