Here is a list of projects that has a big influence on the lives of millions of Nigerians if the government has the will power to follow it through. The list is through personal observation and you may add yours too.
1. Lagos Light rail Project : For a city with 21 million people and transport facilities like the 1920's, the elevated fast train project that is on-going has enormous benefits for Lagosians immediately. You needed to see the how the intra city trains launched by Jonathan are packed to brim for you to know that a better and faster one is long overdue.
Likewise are safer ferry services for efficient transportation on Lagos water ways
2. Dredging of River Niger: particularly getting heavy water craft to unload at Onitsha will really lift a lot of trailers off the road and relieve stress for the hardworking Igbo entrepreneurs. I dont know the latest about the dredging project.
Similar to this is the deep seaport project springing up in some coastal states like Akwa ibom, Cross River, Ondo to decongest the Lagos port.
3. Lagos to Kano by fast train: Not spending 2 days on the road like we currently have. In the immediate period this project is completed, Tomatoes and major food stuffs price at Mile 12 market should come crashing down as well as cheaper rams for the next ileya among others. I think there were plans to connect Lagos and Abuja by fast train sometimes back.
4. The local refinery project: we don't have to work in the oil company to know that refining oil overseas that was mined locally will raise the price considerably.
5. Agro-processing industries in the food hub: If you know people that live in Jos, Markudi and the northern food hubs of the country, have them buy edibles like Tomatoes or Oranges in somewhere like Akwa ibom if they won't scream at the quantity. The problem is actually inefficient transport systems and lack of preservation. I learn alot of perishables spoil on the way as they were not well preserved
6. Energy/power decentalization: I hear there is a ridiculous law that stop states from generating its own electricity for private consumption. What is to stop Ondo state from having massive solar farms as well as Northern states (with wind farms in suitable places) or Enugu using its coal to generate electricity. Even coastal states like Lagos could learn from Western European countries that are investing in tidal Energy. If they got to invest in all these technologies to the point of disconnecting from the National grid, what will stop us from having 24/7 light in Nigeria?

7. Broadband internet project: We all know how much information is important in today's world. Infact, people at the United Nations are advocating for internet to be included as a universal human right. We all know that the telecoms company have sworn an oath not to keep the prices of unlimited data to affordable limits (not Data for Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp only, WhatTheFcuk bundle). This is because your internet experience is not complete if you cannot stream videos. Imagine this possiblity for million more Nigerians.
8. Government Universities Up grade: few days ago someone thought it wise to brag about which government University has the biggest land area. Upon all the overbloated comparism, many of these lands are lying fallow for giant Iroko trees to acquire Masters in height. Meanwhile, Cotonou for example, a Francophone City has been converted to a mecca for English speaking Universities for Nigerians to target those that cannot afford to travel out to the West.

9. Nollywood :Should we not be expecting the name Nollywood to refer to an actual place on map? Thank God for the good guys at the movie and music industry that have projected our entertainment globally through creativity , but yet where is the hub we project this brand to the world? Is it at Ebinpejo lane or Idumota where pirated CD's are marketed? The other day, that Female speaker from Terra Kulture in The Platform 2015 talked of how we lacked giant cinema/hall for a major entertainment event in Nigeria today. Shouldn't we have all these together in one place with studios, training schools, costumes etc and name such Nollywood? I mean how much more loss in revenue can we afford in the entertainment sector?
