Rivers State Election Tribunal Judgement: Wike Says He Will Appeal; Retracts His by donc26(m): 8:19pm On Oct 26, 2015
RIVERS STATE COALITION FOR CREDIBLE AND PEACEFUL ELECTIONS has joined issues with BARR. NYESOM EZENWO WIKE, on his new position that he would appeal against the judgement of the Election Tribunal, which declared his election void for unprecedented violence and substantial non compliance with the Electoral Act and Guideline. The Group, which spoke through its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ndamati Wechie (NOT LIVINGSTONE WECHIE) says Wike's statement that he would appeal the judgement amounts to double-speak and shows that Wike has no confidence that he could win the Elections without compromising INEC and Security Agencies, as he did in the 11th April 2015 Governorship Election.
According to the Spokesperson, "Barr. Wike knows that there is no way he can win APC in Rivers State under a free and fair contest, not after all that Rotimi Amaechi did and achieved in the State. Recall that immediately after the Governorship Election, Wike had boasted on National Television (AIT Focus Nigeria Programme) that if the Governorship election was conducted ten times he would win, and that even if Ban Ki-Moon were to conduct the election, APC would lose. We are therefore surprised that Wike would prefer to Appeal the judgement instead of winning APC a second Why should he waste Rivers People's Money to pursue an appeal instead of putting spade to APC's claims by win them fair and square".
The group appealed to Governor Wike to go for immediate rerun. "We are aware that he has a legal right to Appeal, however we most sincere appeal to Governor Wike to accept a rerun of the Election and spear both PDP supporters and Rivers people the agony and anxiety of going through the Appeal process. Please, kindly allow the Elections to hold; after all you won when you were not in power; after all you will win if the election is held ten times over; above all, you are now in power. Wike this is not a challenge to your MACHO AND SUPPER POWERS; BUT WE DARE YOU TO OPT FOR ELECTION AND WIN AGAIN."
"@We await to see how courageous you can get; if you would be bold enough to accept our offer. We will know after 21 day".
