Most memorable books till date - Enid Blyton's St Claire's and Mallory Towers series.
I just couldnt get enough of those books. The day i got the last series for Mallory towers was a saturday, my dad had to beg everyone else to just let me be, i didnt sleep all night, i read the book everywhere . . . in the bathroom, while eating, doing the dishes.
Is Enid Blyton the Famous five series guy

The Word. . . . . .

can't remember who the author was, but it's the kinda thing a Dan Brown would'a written. . . . its about a man who conned the whole world and tried ridicule the whole xtian religious setup by writing on a number of ancient scrolls he claimed to be lost/missing, unaccou sections of the Holy Bible in an ancient, almost extinct language that only one man in the entire world could translate!
Gripping, mind-blowing stuff I tell ya. . . . if there's anybody out there who knows the book or who's got a copy, i sure would love to read it again. . . holla at me PLZ!

(1) The book of revelations and (2), Forest of thousand of demons aka 'igbo irun mole' translated by Eminent Professor Wole Soyinka. Because they compares favourably and even more authentic than the darkest of any perfect book.

Apart from the Bible that will stand the test of time, i like

"The Notebook" - Nicholas Sparks - it's a story of love and it's actually based on a true life story.

"Redeeming Love" - Francine Rivers - Hosea's Story brought back to life in such a way that anyone can relate 2 it

"Things Fall Apart" - Chinua Achebe - an epic

"Efuru" - Flora Nwapa -

With exceptional Regard and respect to the Holy Bible

Danielle Steel knows how to cut accross the nevers with her writings, her books are always too emotional. U feel ur pulse when at it,sometimes the suspense and imaginations can be killing.

Zoya and Malice are one of d bombs
I cant also rule out the Chambers by John Grisham ,so memorable, it made me cry

Seems all of u have no literary mind! for why listing memorables writers without MAIK NWOSU, a nigerian writer/poet based in the US. Not even shakespear boast of his ingenuity!

Re: The Most Memorable Book You Read by mi3(f): 5:24am On Oct 12, 2008
Forgive me, but i cannot narrow it down to one! and i don't think i've even read a tenth of the books that will leave a lasting impression on me, but here goes,

Angelique, Marquise of the angels, this book is that BOMB!it's by Serge and Anne Golon
Memoirs of a Geisha
The Godfather by Mario Puzo, is perfection!
Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe, could read it over and over without taking breaks
Journey to the centre of the earth, Brilliant!
"The Idiot" by Fyodr Dostoyevski, wow
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, words cannot describe! it was the first "serious" book i read
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, too much of a classic to overlook!

Then theres this trilogy that breaks my heart, the books are
A boy called it
The lost boy
A man called Dave

i swear, you cannot read that and remain the same person.

and Maniac McGee, cannot remember who wrote that one, but the way it talks about innocence and racism is just remarkable

and another trilogy, the His Dark Matters trilogy
The golden compass (this is the new name)
The amber spyglass
The subtle Knife.

that trilogy helped me appreciate the whole fantasy genre

and then there's Ted Dekkers "the circle" trilogy. Black, Red and White, and Blink By ted Dekker too

I'm sure i've left out a book or two, but all the above, brilliant stuff, brilliant!, i know it looks like a lot o.but they are all dear to me mehn!
