Fiction provides a treasure trove of knowledge to guide one’s steps on the path of life. .early in life . . I had the good fortune to stumble upon Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice, the cautionary words of con artists in Sydney Sheldon’s best seller If tomorrow Never Comes, who when reeling in their mark were always guided by the maxim U can only cheat a greedy man. . who can forget the chilling words An eye for an eye a tooth for a heart. In Sydney Sheldon’s The Other Side of Midnight and the treacherous manner in which the Onassis like character deceived the girl into confessing a crime she didn’t commit Then ofcos there was Judith Krantz, it was within the pages of Scruples, Princess Daisy, I ll Take Manhattan. . that I learnt nuggets of wisdom such as If going to buy diamonds always buy single stones rather than pave diamonds However it’s crucial to being an informed citizen |
