What is most surprising is that such comments were made in the presence of men who ordinarily should be political custodians and respectable statesmen like Odili and Awuse. Wike became a god and imposed his dominion on the weak. He feasted on the sentiments and the emotions of some Rivers residents and turned them to pawns with the hypnosis of federal might and promises.
Amaechi was the governor but Wike governed. Wike controlled the Army, the police and other forces. Amaechi barely moved freely in a state he was elected to govern. And Wike's supporters were elated and too excited by this posture and would always chorus him as the Buldozer and the High Tension. They crowned it up with the songs

Rivers people were petrified by Wike's constant threats of violence. Most people ran out of the state prior to the election. Some chose to stay indoors during the elections. Some who came out were slaughtered like animals. Some of us were constantly trailed. With this memory still fresh, is it not ridiculous and hypocritical for Wike to complain of political gang up? But Wike has consistently boasted that he has his tentacles spread across all government institutions and agencies and that every person has a price tag. Among those who struck out his appeal is Justice Mary Odili; (a glaring truth cannot be veiled). Buhari has been indifferent to a fault; raising questions in the minds of some APC believers who still feel the pains of the humiliations, persecutions and the intimidation we suffered in the hands of PDP thugs, police and soldiers. The president is busy with leadership; something Ebele could not afford.
Wike should be told that the only thing that is after him is his shadows. He is ensnared by the trap he laid and forgot.
