@chookar. The mail i got from cu yesterday was that i shld check my application status which is in ur cu undergraduate acct to see if ure qualified for all courses u chose n if ure not u can quickly change before admission list comes out. Then u can also write cusas and still not be admitted, i wrote cusas last yr n had good grades but still wasn't admitted. I think the reason for that was because i ddnt choose cu as first choice, remember last year there was only one choice of uni nt 2 like dis yr. And also with ur good grades u would most probably get in. But i doubt those grades tho, 50 in cusas wen ure a science student how dd u get all those government ques? If the grades r really accurate then u shld get in.
was your jamb also high? picked them second choice too

does CU accept GCE?

heard they take a 100+ for mech eng. and its the most competitive. hope the 2nd choice issue doesnt affect people as much as to cost them the admission

To feran15 and every other CU student who is taking his/her time to answer the questions asked, thanks and kudos to you.May God bless you.
Please i have a question; i'm a final year student of a Ghanaian University, but i recently found out that my school has issues with NUC,and so was closed/stopped from operating. So now i want to start all over from 100L. I'lld like to attend CU and read Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management or Mass Communication but i have a D7 in Govt in WAEC,though i cleared the other papers very well. I want to know if its possible to read either of the above courses with that WAEC score. And secondly,i only wrote JAMB once(3 years ago)and now i can't write JAMB this year till next year because it has already taken place. So i'lld like to know if i can gain admission onto CU without writing JAMB or if i can use the already written one(i scored 207 and CU wasn't my 1st or 2nd choice in it)to gain admission.
Thanks.

from the website of the department of business management(which industrial relations and human resourse management is under),

Candidates seeking for admission into any of the 4-year programmes in the Department of Business Management must fulfill the following requirements:
He or she should possess at least five (5) credit passes in the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) or General Certificate of Education (GCE) or National Examination Council Examination (NECO) or their equivalents in the following subjects: English Language; Economics; Mathematics or Further Mathematics; any two (2) of Accounting, Commerce, Geography, Government or Business Methods.
http://bus.covenantuniversity.edu.ng/admission-requirements/

and from the website of the department of mass communications

Candidates should possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or General Certificate of Education (GCE, OL) or National Education Council Certificate (NECO) or their approved equivalents, with at least five credit passes, obtained at not more than two sittings, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Literature-In-English and any other two (2) subjects in the Arts or Social Sciences domain.
http://mac.covenantuniversity.edu.ng/admission-requirements/

this basically means that you can enter mass comm if you have two other arts or social science subjects and human resources without government as long as you have the other subjects

but for now, the validity of a jamb result is still one year and applications for admission into the coming session is already closed. so you would have to wait till next year.

sorry about what happened to your school

Alright,thanks.

i think you should look for more information on IJMB. it can help you enter school into 200 level through direct entry. it can help you avoid wasting one year if you have nothing better to do. CU doesnt accept direct entry though so you might have to look elsewhere.
