Why Do Soccer Fans Ignore Nigerian Football by nzube90: 1:39pm On May 11, 2009 |
Our football has always been played same way since the 1960s It is unique and often very physical. This style has produced an Olympic Gold medal Two nations Cups three world cup appearances yet all i hear is that the quality is low. The quality is not low but it is our game and only perculiar to Nigeria If you want to see more visit www.arenasignages.com or www.heartland-fc.com |

It is normally rubbish and a torture to watch. I am not someone that shows patroitism by accepting a "we don try" standard. I will gladly ignore it and continue ignoring it until the standard reaches a threshold. |

I have no business with the Nigerian soccer league because it is an absolute waste of time and excrutiatingly painful for the eyes to cope with! Piss poor standard, incompetent officiating, crap facilities, shit quality players, technically deficient management system, name the lot! I will rather commit suicide than watch a Nigerian league game going by past and current situation! |
Re: Why Do Soccer Fans Ignore Nigerian Football by nzube90: 2:45pm On May 11, 2009 |
why did u not commit sucide when Nigeria won the olympic Gold and silver medals. John Mikel was born in England Osaze was Born in Russia and Taiwo was born in Rennes france. Westerhof understood the perculiarity of our game and that is the reason most members of his team were gaints. Bros wake up. outside Brazil Nigeria is the greatest exporter of raw footballers support www.heartland-fc.com |

Re: Why Do Soccer Fans Ignore Nigerian Football by switch47(m): 7:29pm On May 11, 2009 |
@ poster If i want to really comment( giving candid opinion) on this you may think am not patrotic but then the nigerian league is under developing itself. IMAGINE TEAMS SAYING THEY DONT WANT LIVE BROADCAST OF THEIR GAMES because THEY PLAN TO DO OJORO!! locking NTA crew out and preventing them from covering games!! most away games as a rule is not meant to be won!! THE chelski like fans has this do or die mentality that they must winn all home games!! NONSENSE!! |
Re: Why Do Soccer Fans Ignore Nigerian Football by Nobody: 7:41pm On May 11, 2009 |
Why Do Soccer Fans Ignore Nigerian Football? Because they are silly. If the Nigerian League gets half the support given to the foreing league, we will be better than we are now! |

Re: Why Do Soccer Fans Ignore Nigerian Football by segunoris: 1:45am On May 12, 2009 |
Lets face it, The Nigerian league is pathetic. I would prefer the TV off to watching a Globacom league match. This might sound kind of harsh but it is actually true considering the state of the league. English fans watch Premiership and not la liga, Italian fans watch serie A and not Bundesliga, Spanish fans watch La liga and not Dutch league, Why? The answer is simple, Because they get good value for the time they spend watching. I would not want to talk about the calibre of players in the nigerian league'cos i don't even know any but the video output is very poor especially when You watch it on NTa. Just watch super sports united/Mamelodi sundowns on DSTV and you will see The state of the Nigerian league. I promise to start watching as soon the video quality is half as good as that of south africa's. |
Re: Why Do Soccer Fans Ignore Nigerian Football by BenHundred(m): 1:53am On May 12, 2009 |
Nigerian soccer is just not where it needs to be. We are capable of achieving so much more than we do but sadly we don't. So i will continue to watch the giants of England and Spain, maybe Italy. |
Re: Why Do Soccer Fans Ignore Nigerian Football by Nobody: 7:19am On May 12, 2009 |
abbas:So,Mr. abbas,in the process of going to support the nigerian League,I get my skull broken by some thug weilding a cudgel, what will I say? Apparently you haven't visited a Globacom premier league game in person.Where touts are brandished by the home side like a medal. Nigerian league is not worth the crappy pitches the games are being played on.It is that simple. When you have the clowns at the NFF,it's not surprising the league is in such a crappy size. |

The issues here are mere chalenges and more of ignorance. How come the Enyimba stadium at Aba if filled to capacity by fee paying fans every sunday. families also bring their children and no one has been stoned to death. At the heartland stadium the place is jam packed every home game. Kano pillars stadium too has good crowd. I think we have all been brain washed that European style of football is better. Watch our super Eagles over the years we play a brand of soccer uniquely Nigerian. That is what you see at our local league. Yes there are some chalenges in respect of Television coverage and standard of the pitches. This are gradually being resolved by the massive upgrade going on across the country in readiness for the under 17 world championship. I think most of us are listening to all those arm chair journalist and Radio presenters who have never gone to watch a local league match but are authorities at anlysing nonesense. There are challenges but me feels there are also some positives. Some of these clubs do have websites now and its encouraging. Call it nonsense but its still a step forward. |

Re: Why Do Soccer Fans Ignore Nigerian Football by femmicares(m): 11:28am On May 12, 2009 |
Soccer fans do not need look at tghe local leagues because it is full of jokes and it is full of dramas like for instance, home team are definitely made to win on 13/2 odds and the pitch good God! it is something else let alone officiating |
