The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) was created on 31st December 2004 following the scrapping of the Ministry of the Federal Capital Territory (MFCT). Since its establishment, the FCTA has been administered by the following Ministers.

The establishment of the Federal capital Territory Administration is one of the key elements of the Administrative reforms of former President Olusegun Obasanjo to reposition the FCT towards enhanced service delivery.

The reforms brought about significant changes in the administrative structure of the FCT. In line with this, Seven (7) new Mandate Secretariats were created. These are:

· Health and Human Services

· Social development Secretariat

· Legal Services Secretariat

· Area Council secretariat

The establishment of the Secretariats heralded the appointment of non-career civil servants into mainstream administration of the FCT. The idea was aimed at bringing governance closer to the people by limiting the administrative bottlenecks that hitherto slowed down developmental process of the FCT.

On 29th October 2008, following a cabinet shakeup of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), Mr. Aderemi Babalola, Minister of state, Finance was appointed to supervise the FCTA. However, on 17th December, 2008 following the reconstitution of the FEC, Alhaji Mohammed Adamu Aliero was formally sworn-in as the substantive Minister of the FCT

The aforementioned requirements is for your application, the price of the land comes when you are given an offer letter which comes with the details of the land size, particular location and amount to pay into government coffers which will eventually lead to your being granted a statutory right of occupancy.

what if after applying the prices are out of ur reach? u are out of 70,000 naira.This is not how it works in lagos state.

Abuja 11, even though you are not a FCT Minister to know the following question still it will be helpful if you can draw from experience and knowledge to enlighten on general idea on:

1. what price range it may be? (I know that your answer is an unofficial guide but it may help those people who are  complete novice in preparation and decision making process) For example, someone who can only afford N1 million for acquisition of land in government land allocation in abuja may receice a shocker from the offer letter that he should come and pay, say N12 million for a plot.

2. Even if this person is asked to come and pay this collossal amount of money, What is the likely period of time from receiving the offer letter and payment deadline. For example, do government usually give, as an example 6 months, to make payment to enable one to rally about to get this money, or could the period be as short as  14 days to make payment?

Drawing from your experience and knowledge to answer these questions can help people to decide.

For those that are familiar with acquisition of government allocation through ABUJA GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEM (A.G.I.S) will agree with me that it is extremely difficult to predict the exact amount expected to be paid into govt coffers after an offer have been approved, this so because Abuja is divided into different phase and stages of development, the amount payable to govt for an offer in Asokoro will be totally different for an offer in Kugbo or Lugbe.
Normally amount payable to govt is usually not high. Also your offer letter gives you the precise location and size of your land. you also can take possession of it immediately. If for any reasons you change your mind on developing it, you can sell at over 5000% interest from your initial expense incurred.
You are allow a time frame of up to six months to accept the offer and subsequent payment.

Thank you for the information you have been providing on this forum. However, as somebody who has helped many people to acquire land through government scheme in the past I would like to know your experience in the following questions:

1. How much did your client who was allocated a plot in FCT phase II pay to the government?
2. How much did your client who was allocated a plot in FCT phase III pay to the government?
3. How much did your client who was allocated a plot in FCT phase IV pay to the government?
4. How much did your client who was allocated a plot in other areas pay to the government?

i think this is dodgy, never heard of where u pay for something without knowing the price
