Nasir El-Rufai, the governor of Kaduna state, paid a courtesy visit to Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, in his office in Abuja on Wednesday, November 18.


Speaking during his visit, El-Rufai hailed Lai Mohammed, describing him as an experienced information manager, a dogged fighter and a dedicated nationalist, Premium Times reports.

He recalled how he and Mohammed struggled in the All Progressives Congress and the latter even got abducted.

The governor said that he came to wish the minister well and to let him know the thoughts and prayers of the people of Kaduna state are with him.


In his speech, El-Rufai stressed that Nigerians should support President Muhammadu Buhari and his administration as they are doing their best to get Nigeria out of the difficult situation to which it had been consigned by the previous government.


Mohammed, who was excited at the visit, expressed gratitude to El-Rufai and called him “one of our brightest and most courageous”. According to him, the governor is capable to make Kaduna one of the best states in the country.

The minister noted that the unique power of information and culture would drive the change agenda of the Buhari-led administration. He also revealed that his ministry would soon launch a massive, national reorientation campaign as part of the efforts to drive this agenda.
A few days ago, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos state, paid a visit to Kaduna state, where he commissioned the Kaduna State Government Taxi Scheme, Kaduna Cabs.

After launching the scheme, which was the initiative of El-Rufai, the APC chieftain was spotted driving the governor in a taxi.
