Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has said that the state needs Close Circuit Cameras, CCTV, in all public places and data of all suspected criminals.
Ambode added that it was important for police stations to have the technology to access data from all over the world towards easy tracking of criminal elements.

It's not about installing all these nonsense, it is about having good policies plus maintenance... This on its own can create jobs for people if genuinely done.....

A similar thing was done at abuja , for billions of naira, where is it Today? All dilapidated, the few left were stolen off, and nobody cares ..... men this shot country pieces me of...

Good move by the lagos state government. The civil populace should also take a cue. Security is everybody's business. In UK, where you have the highest number of public CCTVs, 70 percent of these cameras are owned by individuals and coporate bodies. The UK law mandates that access to footages by security operative be granted on request.
This is why islamic terrorists find it hard to sucessfully carry out attacks in uk despite having the second largest number of muslims in europe.
