Is It Right To Use The Word 'impeach' Instead Of Removal? by eDoctorr(m): 2:42pm On Nov 21, 2015
We make use of some words due to common usage in our society and it's popularity. I've never checked the meaning of impeach until I was 18 years of age, but undoubtedly I've knew it before then. I watched an interview of a politician then on TV and he corrected the interviewer by saying Impeach doesn't mean removal, it's only charged. I quickly rushed to my dictionary to check the word for the first time. And to my great surprise; it was exactly has he said. This afternoon, this particular word 'impeachment' hits front page.

impeach is a verb that means to
bring an accusation against. Impeach means to
charge someone with doing something wrong,
specifically a high government official, such as
the US president, a senator, or a Federal judge.
Fortunately, very few presidents have had the
dishonor of being impeached .

.........And when someone is charged of doing something wrongly he/she may remain in office but will not preside over proceedings of meetings inveriably as a ceremoral office holder!
