My question iss this: How does this affect an average Nigerian or poor Nigerian?

Is it's services free or very cheap for the masses,if
yes, then God bless him but if No,

You see those dignitaries there, only them kids can go to these hospitals so what is the point?

OP pls post better stuffs or better still, modify the topic to read 'Launching of world class hospitals for rich kids'

Some idiots be quoting me and saying trash.

Now let me ask you,can a 'poor woman' have access to these facilities?
Can a currently jobless nurse with a 'fail' certificate work here as a nurse?

My answer is NO

Some Nigerians don't just want to upgrade their thinking faculty.

Rather than employ a doctor with a fail or unsatisfactory result in this 'world class' hospital as the OP called it,i bet you they would employ a doctor with a pass(who already has a job) and pay him based on hours.

We shouldn't be too naive to think at times and for those who quoted me and said trash because Seun created the quote button,i don't know what to say to you all.

I'm still waiting for that time when we would have money to buy our own food rather than hope on the government to give us food.
What you failed to realize is its in Nigeria weather free or expensive, the hospital abroad where rich kids fly to ain't cheap either, nothing good is free so if it cost an arm and leg people will still go there, poor or rich, from Nigeria and outside nigeria.B4 we talk about free, lts ask ourselves how many of us contribute to charity? wont it be nice everybody today pay their sunday offerings and tithes to charity to help a child and put a smile on the poor of Nigeria faces angry angry
NB, I ain't Dising you your comment.

I followed you till when I got to employment of nurses or doctors with fail!
I must say I don't agree with you on that. You cannot be sentimental with health!
employ people who do not know what they are doing (quacks) could lead to deaths!
I can visualize what people like you would say when that happens - "they had money to build beautiful hospital but could not employ experts because it for the poor!" e.t.c.
How I wish this country can get it right for once by employing people in all organization based on area of specialization or skills, it will help a great deal.

If they are sympathetic enough, someone with a 2.1 will work as a cleaner cos to be a cleaner here, you would surely need a certificate.
Some Nigerians just don't wanna think farther than how they do.
I personally,am tired of such things.
I need a government that rather than give us food, they give means to eat what we want.
Pls I asked some questions and I need my answers
You are still missing the point, this has nothing to do with Govt,I dunno from where you get the idea, its got to do with a private investment by a member of the public,In the developed countries people die daily cos they are in a queue, if you want to jump the queue you have to go private and it ain't cheap or free.
Look I live in London there are no free healthcare though they like to portray it to be so, I have to pay what they call national Insurance contribution I have to pay £313 last month even though I was not sick or needed any type of health care.No the contraxt is if Im sick and go to the hospital cos I work I still have to pay for my own medicine. Now thats what people do not understand.Sometimes we have to face reality and apreciate the world we live in.nothing good is ever free.

I bet you are one hell of a negative person. Your statement says it all.

If u went to that hospital and you got words that the doctor attending to your kids failed medical school but was somehow given the job, I believe you would comfortably let him handle ur kids.

Thinking should preceed talking (on in this case typing). Your case seems to be the reverse!

Why ask dumb questions when the answer is there.... it's "free"

- Can anything good come out from your heart?
- Must u dent a kind gesture with your "impious" heart?
- Even if it's for the rich, when you are rich, would you do same?

No disrespect, but our profession doesn't have a doctor or nurse with a "fail". Whatever "fail" means in your context, it holds no water in the profession

Don't forget that as you point the index finger at someone; the middle, ring and small (last) finger is pointing back at you.

They need to employ the very best to work for them. This is health issue, I bet you wont allow a wack nurse to treat you. You will be the first to cry out if they harm you or your relative. also, It is a private hospital, They need money to run. If they give free healthcare to everyone how will they pay their workers or buy new equipment? beside, healthcare is not cheap anywhere in the world and i can bet that its cheap when you compare it to other hospitals of its callibre abroad. We can only ask the government to provide employment opportunities so we can afford quality healthcare.

Commendable gesture to think about the people's health.

But my worry is maintenance of the structure/equipment.

Those General Electric (GE) biomedical equipment need to undergo regular inspection and servicing.

I hope they will employ staff in that direction.

This looks well planned.

Structures are aesthetic, examining room and the equipments yep. I so wish to see the ward rooms for admissions though.
Besides, if this is freely donated, how will the facility and healthcare workers be maintained?

Our benign challenge In Nigeria is maintenance and sustenance. But this facility sure does look it.

This is a welcomed development. Only if more private individuals could follow up

In a bid to give back to society through charity, over 2000 children have been provided with access to free health care.

The most anticipated news is here; Obijackson Group Of Companies have commissioned a world class children hospital (Obijackson Children Hospital) with state-of-the-art facilities.

http://informationvilla.com/blog/2015/11/och-launch-obijackson-children-hospital-commission.html

A total and complete waste and a disfavor to the average Nigerian.

Those dignitaries are the ones that will be able to afford this.

A true medical philanthropist would open mini clinics directly in the inner cities.

Nigeria is always behind the curve ball. We're already transitioning back to providing health care to patients in their homes.

We are now in an age where we have telephone visits, video visits, mini clinics inside grocery stores (Target and Walmart) but yet here we are with another white elephant project in Nigeria.

We have a long way to go.
