Nigeria is no doubt one of the greatest nations on earth, considering the numerous resources endowment bestowed on us in every facet. However, while majority of us know exactly that the bane of Nigerian development was dead-leadership-walking; we have refused to settle down to accept the way forward. On the part of some aggrieved Nigerians who feel that they have in futility, exhausted their resources at contributing positively to better the lot of the Nigerian leadership setting and thus envisage that the way forward is secession, I believe there’s that dare need to hinge the drive for such agitation for self-determination on the cause of history. Unfortunately, death has dealt us the blow that has blinded some people in every sense of blindness, especially the death of late Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu, a man who believed in putting a course in place to better the lot of his people. As far as Nigeria is concerned, he was a symbol of two things, BIAFRA and APGA. In his life time, Chief Ojukwu “experienced” (like a pregnant woman); the birth of the struggle for Biafra and witnessed the death of the same. Consideration for the wellbeing of his people was too narrow to him when he decided to champion the cause of APGA, with the vision to better the lot of every Nigerian when he contested for the office of the President of Nigeria under APGA. Chief Ojukwu saw the birth of APGA and in his life time witnessed what seemed to be an organization headed in the right direction. Unfortunately, Chief Ojukwu is not alive now to witness what APGA has become and consequently the renewed agitation for Biafra by IPOB and MASSOB. The blindness of those calling for Biafra is that they refuse to ‘see’ that the vision behind APGA was bigger, better and all encompassing than Biafra. While Biafra has died long ago during Chief Ojukwu’s lifetime, APGA is still alive but struggling to survive after his death. Those calling for Biafra and of cause, many Igbos have failed to realize that some key figures who were instrumental to the death of Biafra are still alive and are doing their very best to kill APGA, the only thing left for which Chief Ojukwu may be remembered. The death of APGA will mean that Chief Ojukwu’s legacy is completely eroded.

The way forward for the Igbo nation is for all Igbos to HUMBLE themselves, shelve their pride, egocentrism and greed; and TEAM together to build APGA as division is the bane of progress for the Igbos. Chief Ojukwu did not die without leaving himself a successor, in that he had a “last-wish”. Where is that “last-wish”? I believe his “last-wish” should rediscover what that office symbolizes and take up the mantle in APGA. As far as I am concerned, it shall forever be a curse to the generation of those who wish that the blood of the innocents massacred during the Biafran war and after; till now in the cause of the struggle to better the lot of their folks be in vain. It shall even be worse for the generation of those wishing and working for the death of APGA and the Ojukwu legacy. Biafra WAS about a sectional few Nigerians; while APGA was envisioned to be about the whole of Nigeria cutting across every nucleus. It is obvious that Nigeria still needs at least one more strong political party to move forward and I do sincerely believe that if every right thinking Nigerian sees right, APGA should be it. The resources channeled into the recently renewed call for Biafra should be diverted into funding AGPA and everyone should arise and build it regardless of whatever inclination; tribe, ethnicity or religion.

The OP is an idiat! He must think he's talking to kids!

Imagine the fool advising Ndigbo to forget agitations for self-determination and instead focus on APGA! As if politics in his God-forsaken 'one Nigeria' is that simplistic!

You should be ashamed of yourself for admitting you dont have the basic wisdom to excel politically, you are afraid you will be outsmarted by your mates, hence you want to run away and be on your own with minorities who you think you can outsmart or lord over. That in my opinion is exactly what this whole Biafran shenanigan is all about; running away because you feel outsmarted. It's a shame that Igbos have been reduced to this pitiable mess.

Op, you must be very very senseless. The next time you want to mention Biafra, be cautious. Biafra issue is beyond you, stop making comments that are above you. Am only sounding fair to you. The next time you will try this, I won't be this nice to you.
