Russia Hit Back At Turkey By Changing Syria 'game' by fineguy11(m): 10:35am On Nov 30, 2015
Moscow seems to be moving closer to a Kurdish group which Turkey calls "terrorists.
Russia is striking back after a "stab in the back by an accomplice to terrorists" by changing the "game" in Syria.http://www.aljazeera.com/blogs/europe/2015/11/russia-hits-turkey-changing-syria-game-151129172933416.html
Moscow's retaliation is not just about severing economic and diplomatic ties. It is pursuing a policy that could tie Turkey's hands in Syria.
Ankara never received international backing for a safe zone across its border, but Russia has now ruled that out.
The deployment of S-400 anti-air missiles means Russia has effectively imposed a no-fly zone over Syria.
And now, Moscow seems to be moving closer to a group that has been the US-led coalition's main ground force in Syria - a group which Turkey, itself a member of that coalition, calls "terrorists".
The Syrian Kurdish forces (YPG) is a US-backed Kurdish group that has pushed the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) back from areas along the border with Turkey. In an attempt to change the solely "Kurdish face" of anti-ISIL ground troops, it aligned with some Arab brigades to form "the Syria Democratic Forces" (SDF).
No doubt a further strengthened YPG will anger Turkey, which has long feared that Kurdish autonomy in northern Syria would stir up similar sentiments among its own Kurdish population.
The SDF are now engaged in a fierce battle with Turkey-backed opposition factions in what is considered to be an important corner of Syria - the northern countryside of Aleppo.
To be more specific: the area west of the Euphrates River, which Turkey calls a red line.
The SDF captured some opposition-controlled towns close to the Turkish border of Kilis - known in Syria as Bab al-Salameh, an important lifeline for rebel groups.
Russian air strikes have been targeting the area for days now.
US guarantees!
Control there would allow the YPG to link predominantly Kurdish villages in the north, like Afrin, to areas under its administration from the town of Kobane to the Iraqi border.
To do this, the YPG must first take control of Jarablous, an ISIL-controlled town along Turkey's border.
There was talk of a US-backed Syrian Kurd offensive in Jarablousin the summer. That never happened, as Turkey threatened a cross-border operation.
Ankara apparently got the guarantees it wanted from the US.
The Kurds won't advance in the Aleppo region, and in return the coalition would be given access to Turkey's Incirlik air base from where it can launch raids against ISIL.
Days before the Russian plane was shot down, the US said it would start an operation with Turkey to finish securing the northern Syrian border area to cut off the remaining ISIL lifeline. Since then, there has been no talk about this military operation.
Bigger picture
The rules may now have changed. The YPG has still not pushed west of the Euphrates, but along with its allies, and with the help of Russian strikes, the SDF are threatening Turkey-backed opposition groups in another key border crossing, Kilis, west of Jarablous.
Can Turkey and Russia resolve their dispute?
Losing control of the northern countryside of Aleppo would be a setback for the opposition. Turkey, too, would lose influence.
But Russian President Vladimir Putin seems to be eyeing an even bigger victory. He called on the Assad government and the political wing of the YPG to unite. This has still not happened - at least not officially.
But Syrian Kurdish officials have said they are ready to work with anyone fighting ISIL, and anyone who works for a united, secular and democratic Syria.
Such an alliance would change the battlefield and the balance of power on the ground.http://www.aljazeera.com/blogs/europe/2015/11/russia-hits-turkey-changing-syria-game-151129172933416.html

That squirrel is a terror loving faggott. Since the day Russia deployed S 400, US hasn't been able to even fly in a paper kite into Syrian airspace let alone some mere turkey.

With this news, the likes of arresa and his crew of terror fagboys are in mourning mood. We must collectively decimate and defeat ISIS.

Russia seems to have gotten the right reasons to further impose her will and re-enforce her grip on the Syria. As from me is time and long over due. All the suffering in Syria is as a result of international interest and plans of power blocks in the Middle east. If Russia can single highhandedly take over the terrain and flex her power alone then the soon the war and conflict will come to an end. The problem in Syria is the many international interest gunning for her.If one succeed to take control then 80% of the issue will be curtailed.

After all the Syria has always being a Russian ally and area of interest to Russia. All other powers causing troubles there are the trouble makers. If Russia was to intrude in affairs of any European,NATO or the Americas you would see the same players react otherwise.Russia remained largely peaceful until they realized they would lose a friendly regime to a hostile western Back government. As such the interest in keeping Assad in power. Also it bothers them that the crisis seems to continue without an end in sight.I support Russia taking her place and restoring a friendly government.Atleast to manage the crisis enough for people to go back in most areas and restart there life.

Enough trash has happened and is because to many cooks exist in the matter of Syria.A single cook Russia should take over and bring the nonsense to a quick end. Also the Russia needs to manage YPG carefully as the Arabs see the Kurdish people as trying to take over territories belonging to them in the North. which is why the USA decided to align them with other Moderate Arab Syrian groups to manage the tensions. If Russia promote the group too much then it may backfire o!

Above all its a good move in terms of foreign policy Russia is taking and sending clear message with minimum resource. Unlike the western powers.I know Russia will be mindful not to get in a prolonged war that will further compound her economic situations. All the same i wish Syria a quick return to normalcy.

What a lot of these yank-bots with tinfoil hats don't know is that: Russia is basically just cleaning up the mess the yanks and its raheaded allies created in a peaceful country. Even if you hate Putin - what about Syrians, the millions of people whose lives and livelihood have been destroyed cos of one man. What happened humanity and empathy? These folks are just wicked, selfish, and idiotic - hence I call them black monkeys all the time. Syria will never be the same again.

That was the same way these idiots supported the western destruction of Libya. Now the ricochet effect of that is what created the new Boko Haram and is about to destroy the West Africa axis - all the way to Mali. And it's only a matter of time, with how connected Boko Haram is today, with ISIL, before it starts bombing folks all over Nigeria. Perhaps when members of their families in Nigeria become victims of Boko Haram - they will get the US' nuts out of their mouths.

Anyway, with boko haram growing wings and connect daily - it's only matter of time before the CIA opens a shop there (that's if they don't have one there already), and use those fvckers to destroy Nigeria. ISIS will definitely need a new playground once they get wiped out. So what other place is better than creating a caliphate, all the way from Libya to Nigeria? Let's see how they will react once the drama/theatre shifts to Nigeria. grin
