Latest Intelligence coming in from Abuja has it that the infamous Social media bill currently getting a speedy attention from some unscrupilous senators in the senate is nothing but an attempt to resurrect the dreaded decree 4 (that took nigeria back to the stone age in 1983) on nigerians in 2015. The contents of the social media bill is exactly what is contain in Decree4 act of 1984 which was enacted to serve the same purpose as the bill currently in contention.
Do you not notice how the senate are traying very hard to pass the bill at the speed of light? Have you wondered why very important bills with capasity of affect lives of nigerians directly are left in the dustbins in favor of unimportant bills? If the senate can just pass the PIB bill into law, corruption will be rooted out in the petroleum sector, but would the senate pass the bill? What happened to PIB bill? The wistle blowers bill which was made to expose corruption is still there on life support.
Do not be decieved, these senators are getting serious backing from powers above to stiffle and regulate social media. Their intentions is to stop you reading this from expressing your opinion. As a matter of fact the proposed social media bill by the senate is not different from the information law currently in force in Saudi Arabia!
