It is becoming more and more obvious that the voice of the average Nigerian is being drowned out and suppressed with the use of the so called "Federal Might".

The episode playing out in Bayelsa State is a good indication of that. The Governorship polls held yesterday in Bayelsa is taking a rather interesting but alarming turn. With the threat of the similar draconian Decree 4 that the 8th Senate is attempting to pass into law, most media houses be it tv, social media or print have suddenly gone mum on activities concerning the ruling party.

As voting commenced yesterday in Bayelsa, reports repeatedly came in of thugs sponsored by the APC ruthlessly intimidating, harassing and attacking civilians who had come out to carry out their civic duties, trying to cow them into voting in their candidates favour. So much so that the elections were cancelled in the Southern Ijaw area that has the largest voting power with hundreds of thousands of registered voters. These reports went viral but yet to my greatest chagrin, media houses reported it differently.

Even worse to swallow is the fact that results are being twisted in the opposite direction. As at last night, the PDP had won over 5 LGA's in Bayelsa by a landslide. However, unlike in previous elections like the Kogi elections, no media house had captions indicating Dickson's obvious lead. Have they all gone running scared?

Today, a re-run of the cancelled election in the Southern Ijaw LGA is bringing about much agitation as civilians have taken to the streets to protest the violence being metted out on them by the APCs hired thugs and even militants brought in by the famous General Africa who has close ties with the APC governorship candidate Timipre Silva. No media house would write about this though. No one wants to be hounded by the government.

My fear is that if we keep quiet and cower in fear, then we loose our voice. We loose our identity. We loose our country to the very people we have been trying to wrest it from. We must not allow the Federal Government under whichever party that may be in power to continue to take our liberty, our freedom, our voice for granted. Choices must not be forced upon us. We can never have free and fair elections if we are bullied and harassed into voting the wrong people into power.

You political liar, see your mouth dropping blood. So the sporadic shootings into the country home of lokpobiri ( the minister from bayelsa) early this morning which saw his bedroom window and even walls highly perforated from outside was also carried out by APC thugs?

Apc thugs are all over in Ijaw making the whole place uncomfortable, INEC can not deliver Items for the election. FG should do some about that now & the rigging of today re-run. The election most be done with today APC has no option PDP has been leading

This APC guys kinda have a script they are playing out which involves, capturing the political set up in the country and bring everything and everybody under their control... just checkout all there actions since they came on. The end result of all this things is to take Nigeria back to were we started and even leave us worst off.. unfortunately plenty of u dia faithfuls are either too naive to see this or in it with them in exchange for for paltry sum of money
