I have written severally that Biafra is an ideologue to those who propagate it. Nigeria can kill the people with such mindset, the idea to have homeland called Biafra, but cannot kill the idea. As for dialogue, it will amount to waste of time to dialogue with people who are ideologically sold to mantra of achieving independent homeland such as Biafra. Prof. Soyinka posited that the IPOB can ask Nigeria want IPOB wants. This is not a matter of political patronage from Nigeria but freedom to unite with people of same culture and language. What if the IPOB wants Nigeria to make Igbo national and official language? There is no basis for unity in Nigeria according to Gowon and I have to agree with him. |
