I have being developing this topic but feel like share it b4 completing it.
The way politics is been played and seen by the electorates is alarming, some electorates are ready to sell their good conscience for peanut n still expect those whom they sold it to, to give them good governance. In our present day society after a candidate hv purchase an interest/nomination form which is very expensive, some if not majority of d electorates still expect d candidate to give them money or food stock for him to hv their votes, they don't care about his integrity any more, if such a candidate eventually wins d electn, he/she would like to make his money with a lot profits n show less concerns to d electorates. The painful thing is dat, it is now being practice in our schools , in d school today, wen a student is aspiring for a post in d students' Union, his fellow students would use dat opportunity to milk him dry, some who don't have any thing to to offer will claim they do, n extort money from him, if that candidate eventually wins d elections what do u expect of him? He wil fill his pocket if he is not God fearing, this behavior of electorates have encourage mediocrity in our politics.
Another tools being use by Mediocre is ethnicity n religion, they hide under d umbrella of ethnicity n religion to project themselves into power n wen they loose electns they set up confusion bw ethnics n religions. Lastly our socio-cultural group had derailed, this days they r more Interested in politics instead of them to protect our culture from going into extinction , this had led to factions n disunity among its executives n members, what abt d youth? They r not left out, instead of them to b an advocate of good governance, they choose to sell their conscience though not all of them but a good number of d youth r guilty of this.
MY ADVICE
as an agent of good governance n a promoter of democracy, I wish to advise that all electorates who use to sell their votes should desist from it, religion n ethnicity should not be brought into politics, socio-cultural group should retrace their steps, the youth who account for over 60%of the nation's population should come out with one voice n aid d election of people with integrity into elective offices n to demand for what they want from d govt because d youth cannot account for over 60% of d nation's population yet do not have upto 40% of d nation's employment /appointment post.
Most importantly let national interest proceed personal interest, if we can change to do the right thing d govt hv no choice than to dance to our tune, watch out for d complete article.
Feel free to make ur opinions,
God bless Nigeria.
