The paper is an appraisal of the 1983 general elections in Nigeria with specific assessment of the Ondo State situation.It surveys the turbulent scene in Ondo state before and after the 1983 general election.The first part of the paper discusses the primary election that led to crisis within the UPN in Ondo state,this was followed by the electioneering campaign and the 1983 general election;it aftermaths and the role of police and FEDECO(Federal Electoral Commission) in the crisis were also examined.The last part of the paper concludes the paper.For detail visit olabamigbejohn@gmail.com or 'IMO' journal of the National Association of History and International Studies Students(AAUA chapter pg 147)
